Thur Nov 7 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We had some excellent action on the boat today with an all around mixed bag pick of fish. In the areas that were filled with mostly Seabass the past couple days we saw a lot of Porgies today. Our morning started off with a heavy pick of mixed sized Porgies, between small and large and a couple jumbos. We then worked our way into some deeper water and had a solid pick of some really nice sized SeaBass towards the end of our day. We did also have about half a dozen Trigger fish up to around 3 lbs on board today, along with a few Cod fish, and even a couple keeper Black fish. Overall, it was a very good day of fishing today, there weren’t really any dogfish around either so it made for some nice fishing conditions. Our first prize pool winner went to Everald Golding from Brooklyn, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Cornell Williams from Queens, NY with a 5.7 lb Black fish.
We will be sailing again tomorrow at 5am for our Block Island Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass, our ticket office will be open for check-in at 4am.
