Fri Nov 8 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a pretty ok day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started our morning off fishing in the deeper water and had some good action with the SeaBass today. We definitely had fish at every drop today, but conditions weren’t the best. We then worked our way a bit more to the east and had a nice straight shot of Porgies, between small and large, mostly mediums, but definitely some really good ones in the mix. We also had around 5-6 Cod on the boat again today. Overall, it was a pretty decent day of fishing today. The first prize pool winner went to Sherron Smith from Union, NJ with  3.6 lb Porgy.  The edible pool winner went to Duke Brown from Brooklyn, NY with an 8 lb Cod fish. We are CANCELLED for tomorrow due to weather for our Block Island Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass, but Sunday’s weather looks beautiful and we look forward to getting back out on both our 5am Coxes Ledge Cod and SeaBass and Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead SeaBass.
