Sun Nov 10 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports another good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We had some really nice conditions today along with a great bite throughout the day, however the dog fish were a bit of a problem. We started our morning in the shallower water and had some instant action with Porgies and SeaBass, Everywhere we worked was good, but we had to keep making moves to get out of the dog fish. We pretty much saw a mixed bag pick at each drop with some really nice SeaBass in the mix too. We had about half a dozen keeper Cod on the boat, a lot of Mackerell, and maybe a dozen green bonitas up to 5-6 lbs. The first prize pool winner went to Lisa Sinclaire Benjamin from North Bellmore, NY with a 2.6 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Travis Hill from Queens, NY with an 8 lb Cod fish. We are CANCELLED for all fishing tomorrow due to weather.
