Fri July 25 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a great day on the Viking Starship. There was a lot of tide and wind to start at the lighthouse, so we drifted for Porgies and Bluefish until the tide got too fast. We went down the beach to get out of the tide and had a good pick of Porgies on the anchor. There were a few keepers offshore on the Sea Bass grounds plus a few Triggerfish. We finished the trip making another stop at the lighthouse where Porgy fishing was excellent on the drift with double headers coming over the rails. The pool winner was Jeff Summers with a Jumbo 4 lb Porgy. Revervations for tomorrow, Saturday July 26th are highly recommended. We cannot promise that you will be able to purchase tickets at the window in the morning!
