Fri June 19 – Montauk Spring Porgies & Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports an excellent morning on the water. Fishing by the Lighthouse was great, with a steady pick of keeper Porgies and Sea Bass throughout the trip. Congratulations to our pool winner, Orlando Montes of Philadelphia, PA, who landed a 2.5-pound Porgy! We look forward to seeing everyone again tomorrow.

We found them!! Dolphins, pelagic birds, and finback whales!! On a day with good visibility, comfortable and sometimes cold conditions, we were successful finding several aggregations of Tamanend’s bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops erebennus) groups in the near shore waters just south of Montauk Point.
