Striped Bass Capt Carl reports some action on the Night Bass trip aboard the Viking Starship, but not really a good night by any means. We started off jigging and had some decent action with small Bluefish, Giant Porgies, and 1 keeper Striped Bass. As night fell, we switched over to the live eels, but everything went quiet for the rest of the night. We did read tons of bait all over the place and quite a few fish as well, but the night bite is just not solid…yet. Next weekend as we follow the tide, the Bass trips are scheduled from 3PM-9PM so we expect much more action during the day. Then, the “June Moon” trip should be when the whole night bite starts, as it has for many many years.
