Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports excellent Porgy fishing by the lighthouse on the Viking Starship. We went for Sea Bass towards the end of the trip and found a mix of Porgies and Sea Bass from small to large. Everyone had a handful of Sea Bass by the end of the day and their catch of Porgies. There were also a couple of Fluke. The pool winner was Hung Lee from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.3 lb Porgy.

48 Hour Tuna Charter-Viking Fivestar Capt Steven Sr reports an excellent tuna trip this weekend on the Viking Fivestar. We had a bunch of XL Yellow Fin Tuna, a limit of Blue Fin Tuna, a huge Swordfish, and a bunch of Mahi-Mahi. The canyons are coming alive and we still have availability on the Viking Star trips and a few spots left on the Viking Fivestar trips. Call the office or book online to get in on the action!

Half Day Fishing PM Capt Dave G reported a slow afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. The pool winner was Donald Tarrant of Southampton with a 4.8lb fluke.

AM Half Day Capt Dave G Reports a slow morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had difficult drifts in breezy conditions. Stil we caught some fluke, porgies and a couple of bluefish.  This morning’s pool winner was Burt Berrios of Islip Terrace, NY with a 5lb Fluke.

Sat Sept 9

Night Striped Bass Capt Carl reports another FINE night of Bass fishing on the Viking Starship. It started off slow as we waited for the flood tide to start, and once it did we started to pick away at giant Striped Bass! For the last couple of hours of the trip we saw anywhere from 1-4 big fish per drift and despite a couple of smaller 15-18 pounders, the rest were in the 25-40 lb class. All 3 mates were still cutting fish after we got to the dock. It was a FINE night! Michael Flood from Plainview, NY took top honors in the pool with a 40.2 pound behemoth Bass, and longtime regular Marty “Wellen” Dowd from NYC, NY took second with a respectable 37.3 pounder. Congrats guys!

Half Day Fishing – PM Capt Dave G reports a nice afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had fluke, sea bass, porgies and even some bluefish in the mix.  The first place pool winner was Zach Malmquist from Fort Wayne, IN with a 6.7 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Kerry Mullins from Sunnyside, Queens with a 6.3 lb Fluke.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an excellent day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. There were plenty of porgies for everyone today- all nice, big quality porgies. The conditions were perfect, and we went on for the sea bass where we picked through, but in the end found some really nice sized sea bass. Today’s first place pool winner was Clifford Browne of Brooklyn with a 3.2lb porgy and in second place was Choi Jang Sung of Flushing with a HUGE 6.1lb sea bass.

Half Day Fishing AM Captain Dave G Reports a great morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had lots of keeper fluke and plenty of porgies all around the boat. The late season fluke bite produced some beautiful fish! Today’s pool winner was Angelo Demetroulakos of Brooklyn with a 5.5lb fluke.
