Fri Sept 1

Half Day Fishing AM Captain Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star despite the breezy conditions. The rods were bending all morning and we ended up with a nice catch of sea bass porgies and fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Brian Thompson of NYC with a 4.6lb fluke and in second place was 8 year old Euan Rafiy of Oyster Bay with a 4.5lb sea bass.

1/2 Day Fishing-PM Capt Dave G reported a nice afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star in breezy conditions. We had sea bass and porgies all around along with some keeper fluke and some bluefish. The 1st place pool winner was Terri Coleman from Holbrook, NY with a 6.5 lb Fluke. The edible pool winner was Chris Gobler from East Quogue with a 3.9 lb Sea Bass. September 1st-Porgy limit goes up to 45 and Sea Bass – 8.

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports good fishing today on the Viking Starship. It started off slow due to the dirty water and rough seas left over from the storm. We worked our way east and found a good pick with mixed size porgies and sea bass up to 4 lbs. We then worked our way back inshore and found BIG porgies by the lighthouse. The pool winner was Philip Clark from Philadelphia, PA with a 3 1/2 lb porgy.

1/2 Day Fishing – PM Capt Joey D reports very good fishing today. There was a heave left over from the blow, but we put a nice catch together of Fluke, Sea Bass and Porgies. The pool winner was Anders Larsen from Setauket, NY with a 6.1 lb Fluke.

Tues Aug 29

Half Day Fishing PM Captain Joey D reports a very slow afternoon aboard the Viking Star due to the tough, windy conditions. The pool winner was Patrick Sawer of Brooklyn with a 5lb bluefish.

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports good fishing today on the Viking Starship.  We spent the morning offshore fishing for Sea Bass where we found a mixed sized of both porgies and sea bass. After that we moved inshore finding mostly nice size Porgies. There were also a couple of Fluke caught. The pool winner was Nikki Noel from Brooklyn with a 4 lb Porgy. All Viking Fleet fishing trips are cancelled tomorrow morning, Wed Aug 30 due to the gale force winds expected.

Half Day Fishing AM Captain Joey D reports a slow day aboard the Viking Star. It was a tough morning with the windy conditions, but we did manage a handful of fluke. The first place pool winner was Rick Lerner of East Hampton with a 4lb fluke.

Mon Aug 28

Sunset Mixed Bag Magic Hour Capt Dave reports an okay trip on the Viking Star. The conditions were a bit rough so we stayed close. There was action with a handful of keeper sea bass and fluke.
