Block Island & Outer Banks Cod Capt Carl reports a struggle and a tough day cod fishing today. We started off in the morning catching just a few per drift, then a seal popped up and completely shut the bite down. We caught a few more after a move, then had a promising drift of 15-20 cod, but then that bite shut right down again. It made for a very long rest of the day making many moves, but not finding anything to work on. We appreciate everyone being so patient and apologize for the tough day. We will be back at it again tomorrow and hope to see some better results. Ron Pliszak from Patchogue, Ny took first place with a 11.3 lb cod and David Park took second with a 9.2 lb cod.

Block Island and Outer Banks Cod Capt Steven Jr reports a SLAMMER day on the Starship. Easy limits all around with lots of quality fish in the teens. Also, a nice mess of ling and some pollack were caught today. There was good action a majority of the day with only a few slow periods. The mates were busy cutting fish from 10am to about an hour after we had arrived back at the dock. The full coolers were well worth the long ride. Block Island and Outer Banks Cod Capt Steven Jr reports a much slower day than what we had yesterday. Rough conditions made things tough all around. We only found a couple fish here and there most of the day but in the later half of the day we found a little pick and had a couple flurries but it was short lived. High hook had 6 fish, some guys had 3-5 and others had less. Today’s first place pool winner was Daniel Staniszewki of Lindenhurst and second winner was Humberto Azanedo of Plainfield, NJ.
