Friday September 26

Behemoth Hunt Capt Ant reports slow going on last night Behemoth hunt. It started out great with two fish in the mid 30s right off the bat. Unfortunately our drift speed slowed to a crawl as the light northerly battled the last of the flood. Blues began chomping eels but that was it. We marked piles and piles but not a touch. Pool winner was Paul Striker from Nesconset and Joslay  the fish Ruiz took 2nd. Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a tough day of fishing due to the windy conditions. Thursday Sept 25

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a tough day today. We had to fish the west side of the island to stay out of the weather and we were unable to fish the grounds we have normally been going to. We still managed a decent catch- we had plenty of sea bass and a mix of porgies. We also had a 10lb cod today.

Wednesday Sept 24

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a bit of a slower day of fishing today. We had a strong east wind and it made it difficult for fishing. We still managed a decent catch of more quality fish. We had nice quality porgies and everyone had a few nice sea bass, just not as many as we have been getting. We also had a few blues and a couple cod. Today’s first place pool winner was Bill Wong of Woodbridge NJ with a 3.75lb porgy and in second place was Gabriel Polanco of Pomona NY with a 9lb bluefish.

Tuesday Sept 23

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Capt Dave reports we had some jumbo porgies coming over the rails today along with some nice sea bass and a few blue fish in the mix. The pool winner was Benny Li from Flushing,Queens with 4.5lbs porgy  

Monday September 22nd

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a tough day fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. The action was good with the porgies a bit on the smaller side, and almost everyone had their limit of sea bass. There were also a few blues in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Jose Ramos of Bayshore with a 2.5lb porgy.   The Full Weekend Bass Report from Captain Anthony.  Capt. Ant reports a disappointing weekend overall for the Bass Assassins.  The fish are there, and so was a huge heave that seemed to shut down the feeding frenzy we had experienced on Wednesday and Thursday. Sunday Sept 21

Half Day PM The pool winner was Jim Kissmer from Ronkonkoma, Ny with a 4lb Porgy Half Day AM The pool winner was Mr Jusuf Cejoveic from New York, NY with a 5lb Sea Bass Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had a mix of porgies and lots of sea bass all really nice sized today. The first place pool winner was Sandy Emanuel of NYC with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Francisco Estupimiam of Hempstead NY with a nice 5lb sea bass.

Saturday September 20th

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Capt Dave reports an ok day  lots of sea bass and some nice mixed size porgies along with cod and some blue fish in the mix. The pool winner Billy Lin from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.5lb porgy Second Place Anton from Elmhurst, Queens with a 8lb Blue fish.

Friday Sept 19

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a fairly decent day considering the strong winds today. We had lots of decent sized porgies, mostly big porgies. We also had some sea bass and a couple of bluefish. Today’s first place pool winner was Morgan Rando of Montauk with a nice 3.5ln porgy and in second place was Calvin “Fat Man C” of Harlem with a 11lb bluefish.

Thursday Sept 18

Jig & Eel Combo Capt Ant reports a Local Crush on the bass last night. Once we got the tide it was game on multi fish drifts piled up bass and Big blues on the deck of the Mighty StarShip. They ranged in size from 28” to 32lbs. Many had their limit and we were close to our boat limit Calvin V Jamison aka Fat Man C  from Wappingers Fall, NY by way of ‘Harlem”took the pool with a 32lbs. Its prime time for bassing, We have a few spots left locally for saturday & tonight’s trip to behemoth land! 2 Night Tuna LTD Captain Carl reports another solid tuna trip on the Viking Star! Wednesday Sept 17

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an excellent day of porgy fishing today! Today was the first day they really showed up good and we had mostly porgies on the boat. They were mixed in size, but everyone had their buckets full. We had some really nice sea bass along with one striped bass and a handful of fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Alfred Booker of Farmville VA with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Norman Turner of Jersey City with a JUMBO 5lb sea bass.
