Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Montauk

Sun July 2- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports a tougher morning fishing on the Viking Star. Fishing was slower than it’s been lately, still managed to find some keeper SeaBass and Fluke, but had to pick our way through a lot of short stuff. We did however find some nice Porgies. Overall, it was a slow morning. The pool winner for this mornings trip was Jim Koches from South Carolina with a 3 1/2 lb Fluke.

Sat July 1- Full Moon Striped Bass

Capt J.R. reports a good trip last night on the Viking Star. Lots of action all around the boat. Both the jigs and the eels were producing stripers and blues right from the start. The blue fish were a little heavier than usual but we landed a good amount of keeper bass and some throwbacks….

Sat July 1 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports a decent afternoon on the Viking Star. It started off pretty slow picking away at Porgies and Sea Bass and the occasional short Fluke. The last hour of fishing picked up with nice Jumbo Porgies, Big Sea Bass and several keeper Fluke.

Sat July 1 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports fantastic fishing on the Viking Starship. We started out at the lighthouse and had large and jumbo Porgies with a bunch of Bluefish mixed in. After that we went offshore for the Sea Bass. It was a lot of picking through little ones to get to the keepers, but pretty much everyone had their limit. There were also some Porgies mixed in out there. About a 1/2 dozen keeper Fluke were caught as well.

Sat July 1 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports a good mixed bag morning on the Viking Star.  It was a steady morning of Sea Bass and Porgies. A few nice keeper 20 inch plus Fluke were landed as well. There was no pool.

Fri June 30 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a fantastic day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. Porgy fishing was red hot today, with double headers coming up all around the boat. Blue fishing was excellent today as well, with plenty of  jumbos to pick through. After loading up Porgies we targeted the SeaBass and had more keepers than throwbacks sizing up to 4 lbs. Overall, an excellent day of fishing all around with a mixed selection including a few Fluke as well. The pool winner today went to Cliff Feuron from Elwood, NJ with a 3 lb Porgy.
