Sun June 30 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave on the Viking Starship reports a little tougher drifting conditions today with stronger winds and the tide running fast. Fishing on the anchor was good. A lot of action for all anglers. The size of both Porgies and Sea Bass were a little smaller today than earlier in the week. Anglers brought in 3 nice keeper Fluke and a couple of Bluefish to round out this trip.Young George Amin of Pennsylvania won the pool with a 3 pound Scup.  

Sun June 30 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain Dave on the Viking Star reports a great day for all the anglers on the morning trip. Rods were bent all morning. Over 75 shorts were returned unharmed and anglers brought home 12 Sea Bass 6 Fluke and 1 Striped Bass. Ratko Turcinovic was the pool winner with a 5 1/2 pound Fluke. +3  

Sat June 29 – Striped Bass Fishing

Captain Phil reports from the Viking Starship thunderstorms just ravaged the bite beginning about 8:30 PM.  Storms were of short duration but intense and it was hours before the bite returned. A beautiful sunset was enjoyed by all on board.  Some Striped Bass shorts were released unharmed and two Striped Bass keepers and a couple of Bluefish were landed by anglers.

Schedule Update: We have added 2 trips to the Offshore Schedule for Split Charters on the Viking Fivestar. We are looking forward to Tuna Season starting soon and rolling into September. Sat June 29 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. There was good Porgy action by the point while we were anchored, but it was a bit thin on SeaBass. We searched for SeaBass and found some Jumbos mixed in with smaller ones. It wasn’t our usual catch, but everyone had some. The first place pool winner was Gregory rodriguez from Woodhaven, Queens with a 4 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Beris Nembhard with a 5 lb SeaBass.

Fri June 29 – 1/2 Day AM

Capt Mike reports a good morning on the Viking Star. It was a slow start since we started between tides, but it picked up and we put a catch together. We had action with shorts and caught keeper Fluke, a bunch of SeaBass and a Striped Bass. The first place pool winner was Jack White from Asbury Park, NJ with a 4.5 lb Fluke. The edible pool winner was Annie Holcombe from Bronxville, NY with a 15 lb Striped Bass.

Fri June 28 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & SeaBass

 Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Star. We started out with good conditions at the lighthouse with mixed size Porgies. We then moved off to the east for SeaBass and found a lot of smaller fish, but we picked thru them and got what we needed. There were a couple of quality keeper Fluke caught again today. The pool winner was Fred Nichols from Hempstead, NY with a 3 1/4 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Noel Enson from Brooklyn, NY with a 5 lb SeaBass. Tomorrow we will start sailing daily for Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead SeaBass on the 140 foot Jumbo Viking Starship!

Fri June 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports steady action on the Viking Stariper. It was a slow start, but it picked up and remained steady until the end. We had keeper Fluke along with some shorts and a bunch of keeper SeaBass. The pool winner was 8 year old Eli Schechter from Montauk, NY with a 5 1/2 lb Fluke.
