Sun Aug 28 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a slower day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. This morning conditions were great around the Lighthouse and we had a nice hour and a half drift with a steady pick of Porgies, mostly large sized double headers. When the tide changed it became a bit tough so we worked our way down the beach to escape the wind where we found a nice pile of jumbo Trigger fish. The SeaBass bite was very off today which made for very slow fishing and they were all small, with very few keepers. The first place pool winner went to Jia Ming Zhou from Brooklyn with a 3.5 lb jumbo Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Jeffrey from Islip with a 5 lb Trigger fish.

Fri Aug 26 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. Started off the morning fishing around the Lighthouse, fishing was good but the tide started ripping so we made our way down the beach where conditions were better. We anchored up off the beach and had a really good pick of large Porgies and a handful of Trigger fish. When the tides eased off we made our way back to the Lighthouse and had some good drifts to collect plenty of Porgies. Did some SeaBassing to the east, fishing has been a bit tough, plenty of action but lots of little SeaBass. We did actually grab some nice Jumbo Porgies to finish off everyone’s limit for the day.
