Tue Sept 21 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. It was slower than it has been inshore at Block Island, so we worked our way offshore. We made a lot of stops and had fish everywhere we looked. Some spots better than others. There were mostly Large Porgies and SeaBass with some really nice Jumbos mixed in. The pool winner was Donstan Lindsey with a 3 lb Porgy. The trip is cancelled tomorrow due to weather.
Mon Sept 20 – Full Moon Striped Bass
Capt Carl was happy to report a couple of Striped Bass were kept tonight, but also sad to report just a couple. Things looked promising on our second drift when we landed 2 nice slot limit keepers and a few missed bites. The next drift produced just 1 Bluefish. The drift after that, we landed another slot limit keeper Striped Bass. Unfortunately, that was the end of the action for the night. We drilled out that area for a while with no more bites, then ventured off to many other spots but to no avail. Thank you to everyone for grinding it out! We do not have any more Striped Bass trips scheduled this year at this time, but keep an eye out on our website because when the fall run starts, we may add some day and night trips.
Mon Sept 20 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a fantastic day on the Viking Starship. We stayed up close to Block Island all day. The morning started out with tough conditions due to the fast drift. It eased off and fishing got better and better all day. We had plenty of Porgies and SeaBass along with some Fluke and Trigger…
Sun Sept 18 – Full Moon Striped Bass
Capt Carl reports similar lackluster results on the Night Striped Bass trip again… although, we did see a couple of Striped Bass for the night. We found one little zone where we caught a slot limit keeper. The very next drift, we caught another Bass that was too big, and another that was too small. Then, unfortunately the night went quiet for the remainder. We only saw 1 Bluefish and a few SeaBass so all in all, it was quiet as the fall run has not yet begun. We are sailing tonight at 6pm so call the office at 631 668 5700 to reserve.

Sun Sept 19 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports good fishing today on the Viking Starship. Made a couple drifts close to Block Island in the morning, had a plenty of Porgies and some Sea Bass. Conditions were nice for making the drift. Fishing slowed down a bit moving offshore, but there were still some really nice sized Sea Bass and a few Porgies. The first place pool winner went to Jose Fernandez from Brentwood with a 2.9lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Edward Pimentz with a 3.6lb Sea Bass.

Sat Sept 18 – Full Moon Striped Bass
Capt Carl reports that unfortunately, the Fall Run has not yet begun. We fished many different areas in Montauk, as well as Block Island, but only came up with some Bluefish and SeaBass for the trip. There was no pool tonight.
Sat Sept 18 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt Carl reports another fine trip for the afternoon half day fishing. We went right back to where we were in the morning and had great action right away with Sea Bass and Scup. Fishing was good up until the end of the trip when the tide started slacking off but by then, we had…
Sat Sept 18 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports excellent fishing again today on the Viking Starship. Up close to Block Island we had mixed size Porgies and SeaBass ranging from small to just keepers. Offshore on the anchor was very good with plenty of Large to Jumbo Porgies and Big SeaBass. We also had a bunch of Cod and a lot of big Trigger fish. First place pool winner was Tarik Scott from Elmont, NY with a 3.2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Andy Alboher from N. Bellmore, NY with a 5 lb Fluke.
