Fishing Reports

Capt Dave G reports a very good afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We ended up with a great catch of scup along with some nice sea bass and fluke. The pool winner was Elizeo Ramos from Southampton, NY with a 5.5 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was John Mankonski from Sag Harbor, NY with a 5.25 lb Fluke.

Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship, We had a good pick of medium to large Porgies at the lighthouse. After that we headed off to the east and found a lot of SeaBass with some nice big ones in the mix, although we had to pick through a bunch of Porgies and smaller SeaBass to get to them. Pretty much all had their limits. Nikki Noel from Brooklyn took back her reign as first place pool winner with a 3 1/2 lb Jumbo Porgy! The edible pool winner was Oussienou Ouedraogo with a 4.4 lb SeaBass.

Capt Dave G reports a very good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. There was plenty of action all around the boat, with a lot of shorts in the mix. We also had the most keeper Fluke of any trip so far this year along with jumbo Sea Bass and jumbo Porgies. It was a great morning on the water. The first place pool winner was Andrea Pinero from Boston, MA with a 5.75 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Pesi Carpo from Staten Island with a 5.5 lb Fluke.

Capt Dave G reports a very good afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We started the trip by catching some nice keeper Fluke. Then some nice sized Sea Bass and jumbo Porgies began to bite. Everyone on the boat ended up with a nice catch. Pool winner to follow.

Capt JR reports a solid day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We had decent Porgy fishing at the lighthouse. After we filled up there we headed east towards Block Island and had plenty of SeaBass action. The pool winner was Dimitros Gountis from Upper Darby, PA with a 3 lb Porgy.

Capt. Dave G reports a very good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had a load of big sea bass, some nice keeper fluke and some nice sized parties. A true mixed bag and a lot of action throughout the entire trip. The pool winner was Julian Solomon from Bethpage, NY, with a 3.5 lb Fluke.

3 Day TNT – 8/7 to 8/9 Capt Steven Jr reports that we put together a good trip with good bottom fishing and a little slower on the Tuna fishing. As far as the pelagic we had a tough time getting the Yellows to cooperate, but we managed a couple Yellows, a nice Big Eye around 150lbs and a couple of Swordfish. Tile fishing was good with action everywhere we went with Tiles up to 34 lbs. We also had Barrel fish up to 26lbs, some Pollock, Hake, Blueline Tile, Rosie’s and a Wreckfish. Everyone went home with a nice variety of fish. We recently added some Tuna trips for September and October!! Capt Chris reports a great afternoon trip with lots of Porgy and SeaBass action on the Viking Star. We had tons of healthy bags of fillets all around. Fluking was better today with steady short action and a few nice keepers added in. Pool winner to follow.

Capt. Chris reports a good morning of fishing. We fished around the same area as yesterday morning…Although there was plenty action, I find it was a little more difficult to fill the pails… Everyone going home with Seabass and porgies with a few fluke mixed in. The pool winner was Bob Caffiero from Fresh Meadows, NY, with a 3 lb Fluke. The edible pool winner was Rich Mekeel from Wantagn, NY, with a 3 lb SeaBass.

Capt. Dave reports a good day of fishing. We had good Porgy fishing by the Lighthouse first thing this morning. We caught medium to large size Porgies. We did well enough to go SeaBassing. We caught a mix of SeaBass of all sizes, and some larger size Porgies. The pool winner was Koon Yuhg Au, fro Brooklyn, NY, with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Benny Niranjan, from Queens, NY, with a 4 lb SeaBass.
