Wed July 1 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Chris reports that the afternoon’s flood tide couldn’t compete with yesterdays on the Viking Star. Although it was a bit slow, we did manage several doormats to 8 lbs along with some SeaBass and Scup as well. Pool winners to follow.

Wed July 1 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a fantastic day of fishing! Our first drop of the day saw some of the best Porgy fishing we have seen so far this year.  We had good sized Porgies mixed in with some Bluefish.  We then hit one of the offshore wrecks and boy did we hit on the mother load of Sea Bass.  The spot was loaded with Sea Bass, we did have a lot of smaller fish that had to go back but we also landed beautiful Sea bass as well as a lot of jumbo Porgies. The final drop of the day saw a steady pick of Porgies and then we headed back to the dock. All of today’s anglers left with their coolers full of fish. Wed July 1 – Half Day Fishing AM

Capt. Chris A. reports that we had an enjoyable repeat of yesterday morning with good fishing. We had lots of action with Fluke, Seabass and Scup making the buckets all around. The pool fish was Dan Gersh of Port Washington, NY with a 3.25lb Fluke

Tue June 30 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Captain Chris A. reports that we had a  flood tide all afternoon produced plenty of action and buckets all around. Shorties kept the rods bending . We had a great catch of  keeper Fluke, knucklehead Seabass and Porgies for the plate. The pool fish was caught by Nitiena McGee of Huntington NY with a 3.5 LB Fluke.

Tue June 30 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a spectacular day on the Viking Starship! We fished three areas and they all were good with a mix of nice Porgies, SeaBass and a ton of Bluefish. There were also a couple keeper Fluke and a few shorts. The pool winner was Alexander Kosimidis from West Chester, PA with a 3 lb Porgy. The 4th of July weekend is filling up! Tue June 30 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Chris reports that a good morning of fishing was had by all aboard the Viking Star. There was a mixed catch of Fluke, Seabass and Scup with keepers spread around the boat. Plenty of short action and even a short Striped Bass to boot. The first place pool winner was Owen Kenny from Pleasantville, NY with a 4.5 lb Fluke. The edible pool winner was Samantha Fried from Port Washington with a 4 lb SeaBass.

Mon June 29 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Starship. We stopped by the lighthouse first thing and drifted finding big Porgies and SeaBass. When the tide began to run we went down the beach and anchored. It was a Porgy Bail Job with some SeaBass mixed in! After that we headed out to the deep and drifted finding Quality SeaBass with everyone catching a few with fish up to 4 lbs. There were also some nice Porgies mixed in. The pool winner was Jang Sung Choi from Flushing, Queens with a 3.3 lb Porgy. We are sailing daily at 5am. Reservations are required. Sun June 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt JR reports that the afternoon bite was picky. We managed to get a few Sea bass and Porgies with some Fluke mixed in. The first place pool winner was David Brown from Medford, NY with a 3.9 lb Fluke. The edible pool winner was Jake Camarillo from Rockville Center, NY with a 3.75 SeaBass.

Sun June 28 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports good fishing again on the Viking Starship. We had mostly Porgies today, but pretty much everyone had no problem retaining their limit of SeaBass. We had a solid day of drifting at the lighthouse and anchoring west of the lighthouse and offshore a bit. There were also a couple of keeper Fluke caught. A father and son team from Bergenfield, NJ took both pools. Neptali Transporte won first place with a 3 1/4 lb Porgy. His son Dalmax Transporte won the edible pool with a 4 lb SeaBass.
