Fri Sept 8

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports excellent porgy fishing by the lighthouse on the Viking Starship. We had really nice sized porgies early, then went offshore to look for sea bass. Sea Bass fishing was okay. They were mostly smaller, but some were up to 4lbs. We ended the trip back at the lighthouse for more jumbo porgies. The pool winner was Doug So from Hong Kong with a 3 1/2 lb porgy.

Thur Sept 7

Night Striped Bass Capt Stephen D. reports that with the good conditions we put together a catch with our small group of anglers. Tonight’s pool winner was 11 year old Ian Burge of Springs, NY.

Thurs Sept 7

Half Day Fishing – PM Capt Sarah reports a bit of a slow afternoon on the Viking Stariper. We did find some large Sea Bass and fought through some sea robbins. We managed a handful of keeper Fluke. There was no pool today.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. The first couple of drops that we made in the morning, pulled up a mixed size of porgies and sea bass. Then we moved around a little bit and on the last drop we had larger porgies. Everyone had their limit or close to it of sea bass. We also had some trigger fish and blues in the mix.

Tues Sept 5

Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day aboard the Viking Starship despite the windy conditions. It was a tough start and we anchored up for the first drop, yielding a mix of some porgies and sea bass. We then came more inshore and had a good pick of nice porgies and very large sea bass up to 4lbs. Today’s pool winner was Peter Karantonis with a nice 3.5lb porgy.

Tue Sept 5

Half Day Fishing – AM Capt Sarah reports a Sea Bass Bonanza this morning on the Viking Stariper. We fished through some windy conditions and managed to put together quite a catch. Half Day Fishing PM Captain Sarah reports an amazing afternoon of bottom fishing on the Stariper. We had lots of keeper sea bass, porgies and some fluke. We even saw a few mackerel and bluefish. Everyone went home with a bag of fish for dinner. The pool winner was George Glass of California with a 5.2lb sea bass.

Mon Sept 4

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports good fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started offshore fishing for sea bass. It was a bit slow, but there were some good with a lot of smalls mixed in. We spent the last half of the trip by the lighthouse with excellent porgy fishing, bringing in BIG sized fish with a few decent sea bass mixed in. The pool winner was Michael Huey from Yonkers, NY with a 3 lb Porgy.

Mon Sept 4

Half Day Fishing AM Captain Sarah reports an action filled morning aboard the Viking Stariper today. Rods were bent and we had buckets full of porgies, sea bass and a few big fluke. Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a tough day of fishing today with the bit of rough weather early this morning. It was a one stop drop today and we picked away slow and steady. We still managed a decent catch of porgies and sea bass despite the conditions. The pool winner today was Sylvester Bim Simon of the Bronx with a 3.5lb porgy.
