Saturday June 11

1/2 Day Fluke AM Captain Carl reports an okay day of fishing on the Viking Stariper. The morning was good with some keepers coming over the rail and then in the afternoon it got a bit slow, but we had some nice porgies and sea bass which were all released unharmed. Today’s pool winner was Jim Kelly of Bridgehampton with a nice 4.32 lb fluke. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports an awesome day of porgy fishing. Friday June 10

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Dave reports a fun day of fishing today aboard the Viking Star. It was good fishing with some keeper fluke, lots of porgies and some blues in the mix. We also saw some nice sea bass, which were all returned unharmed. Today’s first place pool winner was Matt Viviano of Farmingdale with a nice 4lb fluke.

Wednesday June 8

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports a good morning today aboard the Viking Star. It started out a little slow with the wind and tide, but it picked up quickly and we were getting JUMBO porgies til the end of the trip! We also had some blues in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Arthuro Howard of Linden, NJ with a nice 3.5lb porgy.

Tue June 7

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports excellent fishing aboard the Viking Star this morning. We had a steady pick of large and jumbo porgies. The pool winner was Hung Lee from Brooklyn, NY with 4.2lb porgy.

Mon June 6

2 Day Tile Wreck Trip – Fri June 3 to Sun June 5 Captain Steven reports that  Day 1-Fishing was very good, but the tangles were unbelievable! With no wind and no tide the boat was just spinning anyway it wanted to, but in between tangles we had tilefish, cod and pollack coming over the rails. We had a good shot of big barrel fish pop up with 8-10 all over 20lbs, with the largest weighing 29.6lbs. We had a lot of nice medium to large tile. Day 2-Wreck’s. We started with wreck’s that were, DEAD. The fifth wreck was LOADED!! We had 2 1/2 hours of good good fishing of cod and pollock. All in all those who worked hard filled their coolers. Sun June 5

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports a slow pick of mixed size porgies. The first place pool winner was the Suero Family from Bronx, NY with a 3.7lb porgy.

Saturday June 4

New Bedford Porgies Captain Steven Jr reports a very tough day today. We had difficult time with the porgies, but we did get some nice sized sea bass. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports a tough day of fishing aboard the Viking Stariper. We had a decent amount of big fish for about an hour. After that we culled thru a lot of little fish. At the end of the trip everyone ended up with about a bucket of fish. The pool winner was Tina Nichols from Brooklyn, NY with a 3lb porgy. 1/2 Day Fluke Captain Dave reports a fun fluke trip. We had a bunch of keepers up to 4lbs. A couple dozen porgies and blue fish. The pool winner was Steve Gayda from Merrick, NY with a 4lb fluke.

Fri June 3

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Dave reports a great day of fishing this afternoon! We had lots of action with many shorts, and then when the tide changed right at the end of the day we had a handful of keepers. Shannon Rom of Breezy Point was the pool winner today with a 3.2lb fluke. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports okay fishing today aboard the Viking Stariper. We had nice fish, but it was a little slower than it has been. On the first drop we had nice big fish, but when we moved on the fish were smaller. We then found a new spot and had a slow pick of nice fish.

Thursday June 2

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent day of porgy fishing today. Everyone went home with plenty of fish! We saw a nicer size, mostly all big porgies today, along with some blues in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Jorge Quizhpi of Lakeland NJ with a nice bug 4lb porgy.

Wednesday June 1

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports a good day of porgy fishing today. It started out tough with a difficult tide, but once the tide changed, it was a bail job! We had a mixed size of porgies, we also had some blues and 1 striped bass. Today’s pool winner was Shkelzen Morina of Richmond Hill with a nice 3.5lb porgy. New Bedford Porgies Steven Jr reports they had a good day today from beginning to end! We had a steady pick that resulted in full coolers of porgies and everyone with or close to their seabass limit! Nicky N. from Brooklyn took the pool with a 3.2 lb porgy.
