Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports another excellent day of porgy fishing aboard the Viking Stariper. There was plenty of big porgies with everyone reaching their limits. There was lots of bluefish and fluke caught too with the biggest fluke coming in at 7.75 lbs. Today’s pool winner was Kevin AKA “Flounder” from Brooklyn with a 4 lb porgy.
Wednesday June 15
Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports another good day of fishing today. We had lots of good sized scup, with some blues in the mix and lots of sea bass that were all released unharmed. Today’s pool winner was Ronnie Hughes of Brooklyn with a BIG 4.25lb porgy.
Tuesday June 14
Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today. We had mixed size porgies with a couple of blues in the mix. We also had a handful of sea bass, all released unharmed. Mon June 13
Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent day aboard the Viking Star. Everybody had their limit of scup. We also had blue fish and a keeper striped bass. We also had beautiful sea bass released unharmed. The pool winner was Julio Mancia from Uniondale, NY with a 4.2lb porgy. Dave Duffy Charter – Thur June 9 to Sun June 12 Captain Steven Sr reports Day 1 – We tried to stay out of the wind the best we could, working around Martha’s Vineyard, by noon the wind was dropping out and we headed to Nantucket to find no wind, calm seas, and fantastic fishing for the rest of the day. Sun June 12
Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports excellent fishing today with nice size porgies. It was really hot in the beginning of the trip, then the wind picked up and we found a spot to hide and had a solid pick. We also had striped bass, blue fish and fluke. The first place pool winner was Sam Bowens from Mahwah, NJ with a 4.3lb porgy. The edible pool winner was Pam Bowens from Lindenhurst, NY with a 15lb striped bass. 1/2 Day PM Pool winner was Ray Kotula from Shelter Island, NY with a 5.5lb fluke. Report to follow.
Saturday June 11
1/2 Day Fluke AM Captain Carl reports an okay day of fishing on the Viking Stariper. The morning was good with some keepers coming over the rail and then in the afternoon it got a bit slow, but we had some nice porgies and sea bass which were all released unharmed. Friday June 10
Half Day Fluke PM Captain Dave reports a fun day of fishing today aboard the Viking Star. It was good fishing with some keeper fluke, lots of porgies and some blues in the mix. We also saw some nice sea bass, which were all returned unharmed. Today’s first place pool winner was Matt Viviano of Farmingdale with a nice 4lb fluke.
Wednesday June 8
Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports a good morning today aboard the Viking Star. It started out a little slow with the wind and tide, but it picked up quickly and we were getting JUMBO porgies til the end of the trip! We also had some blues in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Arthuro Howard of Linden, NJ with a nice 3.5lb porgy.

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Dave reports excellent fishing aboard the Viking Star this morning. We had a steady pick of large and jumbo porgies. The pool winner was Hung Lee from Brooklyn, NY with 4.2lb porgy.
Mon June 6
2 Day Tile Wreck Trip – Fri June 3 to Sun June 5 Captain Steven reports that Day 1-Fishing was very good, but the tangles were unbelievable! With no wind and no tide the boat was just spinning anyway it wanted to, but in between tangles we had tilefish, cod and pollack coming over the rails. We had a good shot of big barrel fish pop up with 8-10 all over 20lbs, with the largest weighing 29.6lbs. We had a lot of nice medium to large tile. Day 2-Wreck’s. We started with wreck’s that were, DEAD. The fifth wreck was LOADED!! We had 2 1/2 hours of good good fishing of cod and pollock. All in all those who worked hard filled their coolers.
