Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a bit of a slower day today on the fishing grounds. We still managed a nice catch with mostly sea bass- which most people had their limit- about a dozen cod up to 14lbs, a few porgies and a couple bluefish in the mix. Today’s porgy pool winner was Chan Woon Vica and in second place with the edible pool was Brandon Welch with an 11lb cod.
Friday Nov 28
30+ Saltwater Turkey Wreck Trip Capt Carl reports an excellent day on the Viking Star today! The weather was a bit ugly but fishing was red hot! Giant Jumbo Muhuska Knothead Seabass chewed like crazy with lots of double headers and we caught a quick and easy full boat limit of them. We also had about 30 or 35 keeper Cod to 25 lbs, and plenty of other delicious bycatch including ling, white hake, cunners, and cocktail blues. It was just savage. The crew spent hours and hours cleaning fish on the ride home and at the dock. We didn’t get many pictures, but here are a few. Schedule Update: Happy Thanksgiving! We will be closed tomorrow Thursday Nov 26th for the holiday and will reopen on Friday Nov 27th. ON FRIDAY NOV 27th: We will be sailing for the 30+ Saltwater Turkey Wreck trip- the office will open at 2am for check in and ticket sales. We will also be sailing for the Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass trip- the office will open at 4am for check in and ticket sales. Sunday Nov 23
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had mostly sea bass today along with some nice sized porgies, a couple blues and about 15-20 keeper cod. Today’s first place pool winner was S. Danne of Queens Village with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Andreas Voutsinas of Jamaica NY with a 10lb cod.
Saturday Nov 22
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a tough day of fishing due to the conditions today, but we managed a good catch of fish. We had a handful of nice big quality porgies. We had a great catch of sea bass with most people having their limit. We also had about a dozen keeper cod and bluefish. Today’s first place pool winner was Sam Chen of Brooklyn with a nice big 4lb porgy and in second place was Tom Louie of Syosset with a 20lb cod.
Monday November 17th
Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports very good day of fishing .We had porgies up to 3lb sea bass up to 5lb and some blue fish and 1keeper cod in the mix.The dog fish was no trouble today just great fishing all day.
Sun November 16
Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day on the porgy grounds we had porgies sea bass and about 15 keeper cod and some blue fish in the mix. The dogs gave us a little problem today but we had a good day.The pool winner Mr Ken Yu from Staten Island, NY with a 3lb porgy Second Place went to Mr Azim Khan from Brooklyn, NY with a 11lb Cod. NoMan’s Trip Captain Steven Sr. Reports it was a typical old school Blackfish Heaven trip on the Viking Star. Conditions were tough with wind against tide, but the white chins were aggressively attacking the crabs and it turned out to be another banner day with some bulldogs coming over the rail. We also had about 10 keeper cod and a few blue fish in the mix, The pool winner Mr Ramirez from Manhattan, NY with a 3lb Porgy Second place Sandra Valleso from Flushing Queens with a 10lb cod.

Wednesday November 12
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day of fishing aboard the Viking Starship. There were plenty of porgies and sea bass and the dogs were not bad. There were 12 keeper cod up to 20 lbs and about 30 blues. Everyone had so many fish they wanted to leave early! Today’s first place pool winner was Norman Owens from Bronx, NY with a 4lb porgy and in second place was Gary Thigpen from Freeport, NY with an 11 lb cod Fish.
