Thurs Oct 16 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a decent day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We anchored up south of Block Island and had everything biting. The Porgies and Sea Bass were on the smaller side, but when it calmed down and we got to move around to some different spots we found bigger fish. There was plenty of action including Mackerel, Triggerfish and Bluefish. It was a much better outcome than we expected after the blow. The pool winner was Junior Honeywell from Jamaica, Queens with a 3.5 lb Porgy.

Sat Oct 11 – Squid Fishing

Capt Carl reports that we went squid fishing Friday night and Saturday night and we saw similar results… both nights started off very good and stayed good until the bluefish found us. Then, the rest of the night was a pick. Slow for some people, but steady for others. It looks like our next Squid fishing trip will be Friday night after the storm clears out. Hopefully the bad weather chases out the bluefish!

Sat Oct 11 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Seabass

Capt. Dave reports a weird day today. We caught fish but had to make several drifts because the fish stopped biting after about an hour at each drop. After moving around most of the day we managed a good catch of Porgies and Seabass. The fist place pool winner was Visitor StPaul from Brooklyn, NY, with a 2.8 lb Seabass. The second place winner was Robert Moore, from the bronx, NY, with a 4 lb Seabass.
