Fishing Reports

Wed Nov 8 – Night Squid Jigging

Capt JR reports another productive night of squidding on the Viking Starlite. Right from the start the big tubes were biting quite well with double headers being pretty common. As the night went on the boat was surrounded by massive balls of bait that kept some of the squid busy and made the jig bite…

Wed Nov 8 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We started up close to island this morning and had a good pick of quality Porgies in there, but unfortunately we were chased out by the tide. When the tide starting running we did some exploring and dropped in a two spots…

Mon Nov 6 – Blackfish & Sea Bass

Capt Steven Sr. reports a good day of fishing on the Viking Star. Started off with a bumpy ride out, but well worth the ride. We had a solid hour and a half of jumbo SeaBass fishing, with an easy boat limit right off the bat. We then went to do some Black fish, which…

Mon Nov 6 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Superstar. Today we stayed tight up to the island, out of the rough weather. We had calm conditions in the protected area. It was a slow and steady pick of nice sized Porgies with plenty for all. There were some keeper Sea Bass, but a lot were…

Sun Nov 5 – Coxes Ledge Cod & Sea Bass

Capt Joe reports an excellent trip on the Viking Star today. Today was an absolute slammer trip, with about a dozen large Cod on the boat and non-stop Sea Bass action all day. Seabass fishing was just about as good as it gets with double-triple headers flying over the rail. Everyone left the boat today…

Sun Nov 5 – Block Island Jumbo Pogies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Superstar. We spent the day inshore for the most part, tucked in closer to the island, making plenty of drifts. We picked away pretty much all day and had a good pick of large size Porgies. SeaBass weren’t as nice in size…

Sat Nov 4- Night Squid Jigging

Captain Carl reports a slower night than we have been seeing this week. We still caught plenty of squid and the anglers who were dialed in caught very well, but other anglers did not. The squid were all over the surface around the boat and under the boat, but they were biting more finicky then the last couple of slammer trips this week. Every night is different on how the squid respond but they are definitely still here and we are definitely sailing again tonight! *** Squirt Alert*** Tonight’s trip remains 6:30PM-1AM, but our next trip on Wednesday Nov 8 begins our time change of 5:30PM-Midnight because of daylight savings time. We look forward to seeing you Squid-A-Holics on board! Get them while they are here!

Sat Nov 4 – Block Island Jumbo Pogies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a tough day on the Viking Superstar. The Porgies were off the bite, so we did a lot of searching around. It was a tough pick, but we found some everywhere we went. Two of the drops were really good, but not for as long as we would have liked. The Sea Bass were quality and the Porgies were varied in size. We also had about ten Cod and there is still a bunch of Mackerel around. Pool and photos to follow.

Sat Nov 4 – Blackfish & Sea Bass

Blackfish pool winner was Gary Smith from West Orange, NJ with a 4.8 lber. The Sea Bass pool winner was John Gallo from Center Moriches, NY with a 2.8 lber.

Fri Oct 3 – Night Squid Jigging

Capt Carl reports another VERY GOOD Squid report again tonight from the Viking Starlite. As soon as we anchored up, they were biting! It became LIGHTS OUT catching for the first half of the trip with Big Tubes flying in many double headers and even triple headers! Some anglers already had a full bucket and…
