Sat Sept 3 – 1/2 Fishing PM
Capt Mike reports another nice day on the Viking Star. It was steady Porgy picking all day. We also caught a few jumbo Sea Bass and nice keeper Fluke later in the trip. There was no pool this afternoon.
Sat Sept 3 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports an excellent day on the Viking Starship. Montauk Porgy fishing continues to be EXCELLENT at the lighthouse. The Sea Bass fishing is still a bit tough to the east. We continue to pick through a bunch of smaller fish to get to the bigger ones, but everyone is managing a few keepers….
Sat Sept 3 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Capt JR reports an action packed trip this morning on the Viking Star. Giant tackle busting Porgies and Sea Bass made up most of our catch. A few Fluke coming over the rail as well. Lots of meat for fish dinners!!! The first place pool winner was Craig Harrigan from Larchmont, NY with a 3.2 lb Sea Bass. The second place pool winner was Gary Owen from Larchmont, NY with a 2.8 lb Sea Bass.
Fri Sept 2 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt Mike reports a beautiful afternoon spent fishing on the Viking Star for the half day fishing. The weather turned into a gorgeous day on the water with full buckets all around. Conditions where perfect at our spot for large quality Sea Bass, jumbo Porgies with a few keeper Fluke thrown in. The first place pool winner went to Mike McFeely from Rockville Centre with a 4.2 lb SeaBass.
Fri Sept 1 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Wed Aug 31- Whale Watch
Our successful trips continue: 2 humpback whales! We headed out on a gorgeous day with unlimited visibility and clear skies. We weren’t far out at all when we encountered our first humpback. This was a small one, perhaps no more than 30′ (9.14 meters) long. A minke whale was spotted briefly also. This young whale never fluked when diving and spent much time logging at the surface. We headed to find more and encountered a whale with propeller scars on its left fluke we’d seen last year, MTK.2021.08.15-04 (AKA NYC 0228). Since last year the prop scar closest to the trailing edge were broken through and we could see through it and could see water flowing through it. This whale also had what appear to be fresh entanglement scars on its tail stock. This whale is a resilient survivor…
Thurs Sept 1 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt JR reports another great trip on the Viking Star. There was plenty of action all afternoon with a mix of Fluke, Sea Bass and Porgies. Tomorrow is looking beautiful, so come on out and get in on the fun! The pool winner was Zhijiang Yang from NY, NY with a 5 lb Fluke.
Wed Aug 31 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Capt JR reports steady action this morning on the Viking Starlite. We started fishing around the shallow rock piles and found some very big Porgies. We moved offshore a bit to some deeper holes and captured lots of SeaBass and a few keeper Fluke to end the trip. The first place pool winner went to Florimond Smoor from Lauchmont, NY with a 4.5 lb Fluke.
