Fri Aug 13 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. It was a “Bail Job” at the lighthouse. The Porgies were more on the medium to large size with some Jumbos mixed in. SeaBass offshore started off slow until the tide got going then it picked up. We also had a few Fluke and Mackerel in the mix. The first place pool winner was Ray Jorge from the Bronx, NY with a 2.3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was George Watson with a 3.6 lb Trigger fish.

Capt. JR reports loads of action this morning on the Viking Star. Seabass and Porgies were coming over the rail everywhere we went. Everyone had a big delicious bag of meat to go home with. Capt JR reports a great trip on the Viking Star. The afternoon trip brought lots of action with the primary catch being SeaBass and Porgies. Tue Aug 10 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies
Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. We started at the lighthouse where we found a lot of smaller Porgies. We made a bunch of adjustments and found the bigger ones we have been seeing. Offshore for SeaBass the tide was running hard and the first drift was tough. We were rewarded on the second drift with Red Hot fishing. There were also 5 keeper Fluke in the mix and a bunch of Mackerel. The pool winner was James Cook from Philadelphia, PA with a 2.8 lb Porgy.
