Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Montauk

Thurs July 2 to Sun July 5 – 3 Day TNT – Viking Fivestar

Capt Steven Jr reports that our first trip off to the deep was a productive one with the bottom fish, but slow on the Tuna fishing. Both days of bottom fishing we had steady action with Tiles, Pollock, Hake, Barrelfish, Cusk and a few Blue Line Tile. We spent both mornings and one evening on the troll and were only able to turn up 3 Yellows and a couple Marlin bites. At the end of the trip everyone went home with a nice load of deep water fillets and some Tuna. We are looking forward to get back out there at the end of next week. We hope the warm water keeps pushing closer and the Tuna fishing picks up. We have very limited openings for offshore trip until September so give us a call at the office and get…

Sun July 5 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a great day on the Viking Starship.  Today’s trip started out a little slow with a strong running tide.  We had a steady pick of slightly smaller Porgies than we have been seeing, BUT that is not how the trip finished.  We tried a new spot and found lots of quality Sea Bass with some larger Porgies mixed in.  The rods were bending almost continuously and kept our mates and anglers busy.  Ifa Gordon from the Bronx NY won the first place in the pool with a 3 lb Porgy and Maria Torres also of the Bronx won the edible pool with a 4 lb Sea Bass.

Sun July 5 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM
