Sat Nov 18 – Blackfish & Sea Bass

Capt JR reports a very successful day on the Viking Star. Lots of Knothead Sea Bass for everyone and a nice pick of Blackfish before the wind started blowing. Added bonus we put some nice Cod in the coolers to top off the catch. Fishing has been very consistent and hasn’t disappointed. The Blackfish pool winner was Qi Yong Hu from Flushing, Queens with an 8 pounder. The Sea Bass pool winner was Bill Finalborgo from Southampton, NY with a 5 pounder.

Sat Nov 18 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports another good day on the Viking Starship. It was good from start to finish with plenty of Porgies and Sea Bass for everyone, along with a 1/2 dozen decent Cod. There was a mix of stuff and everything was a good size. The first place pool winner was Michael Balsamo from Island Park, NY with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Mr. Park from Queens, NY with a 5 lb Cod. We are definitely sailing tomorrow. The office will open at 4AM for ticket sales.

Tue Nov 14 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. We started in the deep water again and found a lot of Big Sea Bass. When we had what we needed we headed off to the east and anchored for Porgies. It took awhile to get them coming, but when they got going it was good. There were mixed size Porgies with some medium Sea Bass in the catch. Nothing much else to mention today. There was no pool with the light crowd. We are definitely sailing tomorrow at 5AM.
