Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Carl reports fishing was phenomenal! All the biggest porgies ever! Lock & Load Double Headers!!! Jumbo!Jumbo! One Drop Day. The pool winner was Leonard Chalmers from Port Jervis, NY with a 3lb porgy. New Bedford Porgies and Seabass Capt Dave reports an excellent day of porgy and seabass fishing. There was a very good bite today with a lot of porgies and seabass coming over the rails. The pool winner was Brian Hook of Bronx, NY with a 2.75lb porgy.

Monday May 25

Half Day Fluke PM Capt Joe reports a slow afternoon, very similar to this morning with the wind and the tide. There was lots of action with the shorts, we managed a handful of keepers and also had some blues in the mix. This afternoons pool winner was Maxwell Remmer of Lorchmont, NY with a 4.3lb fluke. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Steven Francis reports a difficult start this morning. The fish kept moving around so we kept moving too. It wasn’t until the last drop when we really found them – picked away at the for an hour. Most people had their limit. The pool winner was Guadalupe Gomez from Brentwood, NY with a 3.7 lb porgy. Sunday May 24

Half Day Fluke AM Capt Joe reports a very good morning of fishing today. Viking Fleets own Freddy “Motor” Shea got a 7 pounder yesterday, a 6.5 pounder today and limited out both days. Today’s pool winner was Brendan Simicic of Deer park with a 6.5lb fluke. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Stephen Francis reports a better day today than yesterday! It was a bit tricky at the start- we would make a drop and it would be on fire for the first 10 minutes into the drop and then they would scatter. Even though we had to make some moves, everyone had their limit and the last drop of the day was a solid hour of fishing. . Saturday May 23rd

PM New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a bit of an improvement from the morning trip. We had both porgies and sea bass. Today’s first place pool winner was Denara Wright of Queens with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Meral Ranniarine of Manhattan with a JUMBO 5.75lb sea bass. PM Half Day Fluke Captain Joe reports a good afternoon of fluke fishing. We had lots of action with a ton of shorts and a mix of fluke and bluefish. There are good signs of improvements for fluke fishing as the water warms. Todays pool winner was Eric Ferrara of Somers, NY with a 7lb fluke. Friday May 22nd

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Steven D reports a great morning on the porgy grounds with fish coming over the rails as the morning went on the bite slowed down a bit. It was a great day on the water The Pool winner was Mr Darris Clark from Bay Shore, NY with a 3.7lb porgy. New Bedford Porgies-AM Trip Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. A lot of porgies were coming over the rails. The pool winner was Jerome Linvsay from PA with a 4lb porgy. The second place pool winner was Rome Ramoutea from Richmond Hills, Queens with a 14 lb Striped Bass. Tomorrow is opening day for sea bass and we have already been seeing some nice ones!

Thursday May 21st

New Bedford Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a steady pick of some nice market size scup.We had a bit of every species including Striped Bass Black fish and some nice keeper Sea Bass which were returned unharmed. The pool winner was Mr Ian Ganich from Teaneck, NJ with a 3lb porgy. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Carl reports another lock and load day with lots of double headers coming over the rails. We could not have asked for a better day on the Porgy grounds. Bobby Krug had a 6lb Fluke. Fishing is great, we are SOLD OUT on Saturday. Spots open for all other days, We are sailing 7 days. New Bedford Porgies-AM Trip Capt Dave reports a steady pick of porgies and sea bass. Remember seabass opens this Saturday! They had a few black fish. The largest weighing 9 lbs. The pool winner was Tonya Thomson from Brickstone, NJ with a 3lb porgy.

May 18

New Bedford Porgies Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. There was very nice porgy and seabass action. The opening of seabass in Massachusetts is Saturday May 23rd, with the great action and thowbacks we have had it is looking like a good start to the season!

Sun May 17

1/2 Day Trip-AM Capt Steven Sr reports a good start to the fluke season. A couple of keepers were caught on each drift. A 6lb fluke was caught, but the angler was not in the pool. Angelo Dementoulakos of Brooklyn, NY was the pool winner with a 3.5lb fluke. A nice size blue fish was landed by our very own Joey Ferguson! Our next 1/2 Day trip’s will be Friday May 22 – PM Trip, Saturday May 23 – AM and PM Trips, Sunday May 24 – AM and PM Trips and Monday May 25 – AM and PM Trips. The pool winner this morning was Ellino Deltoro with a 3lb porgy.   Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Carl reports another excellent day on the Montauk Porgy Grounds! Plenty of double headers, jumbos and happy customers! Remember to make a reservation when you want to come and get in on the hot, hot bite!!
