Sun Sept 13

Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day despite the rough conditions today aboard the Viking Starship. It was slower than it has been, but we had a slow steady pick of nice sized porgies and sea bass. We also had a handful of cod, some bluefish some fluke in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Victor Suero of the Bronx with a 4lb porgy and in second place was Chata Kamal of Queens with a 13.5 bluefish. Night Striped Bass Captain Steven Sr reports a very slow evening aboard the Viking Starship. There was not much action, but we did have a  37lb 8oz bass caught by Ben Maritato.

Sat Sept 12

Half Day Fluke AM Captain Dave G reports a great morning of fishing on the Viking Stariper. There were plenty of sea bass, jumbo porgies and a keeper fluke with fish biting during the entire trip. Today’s pool winner was Nick Rubicco of Roscoe NY with a 3lb fluke. Montauk Jumbo Fall Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day fishing aboard the Viking Starship. Porgies were a little bit off, but they were quality fish. We limited out on sea bass and there were 45 keeper cod with high hook having 6. They averaged around 12 pounds. Barclay Bank Half Day AM Charter Captain Dave G reports a great morning of fishing aboard the Viking Stariper despite the rough conditions. We caught a boat load of porgies, sea bass and a keeper fluke. The Barclay Bank group had a great time! The Viking Fleet would like to thank everyone for an awesome morning. The first place winner was Brian Bruening of Cleveland, OH with a 3.9lb fluke and in second place was Michael Lauipour of NY with a 2.7lb sea bass. Thurs Sept 10

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Dave G reports a decent afternoon of fishing despite the difficult weather. We had enough sea bass and porgies to go around and todays pool winners were John and Sue Banzer of Centereach with a 3lb sea bass. Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. The porgies were a bit on the smaller side with some big ones mixed in, but it was a solid porgy bite all day. We also had a few nice sea bass and some cod, 1 keeper striper and about a half dozen keeper fluke. Today’s pool winner was Norman Owens of NY with a 3lb porgy.

Wed Sept 9

Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. It was slow and steady all day with nice big porgies and sea bass, along with about a dozen keeper fluke and 15 keeper cod. It was good fun with nice quality fish. Today’s pool winner was Ronald Burres of Brooklyn with a nice 3.5lb porgy.

Tue Sept 8

Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports very good porgy fishing at the Lighthouse. They took a ride over to the Block Island Grounds and found about 90% of the sea bass there. There were a couple of fluke caught. The pool winner was Richard Wong from Queens, NY with a 3lb porgy. The second place pool winner was Ronald Burress from Brooklyn, NY with a  4 1/2lb sea bass.

Mon Sept 7

Happy Labor Day!!! Montauk Summer Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day fishing the local porgy grounds. We had a nice mixed bag of porgies, sea bass and fluke. Tomorrow will be the first day of Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass. The departure time is 5am and the return is 3pm. Fare is $95. Today’s pool winner was  Mr. Dane  from Jamaica, Queens with a 2.5lb porgy. Half Day AM Captain Stephen D reports a good day with a lot of action. There were mostly porgies and sea bass. The pool winner was Elizabeth Kneetes from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.5lb porgy.

Sun Sept 6

Half Day Fluke AM Captain Stephen Francis reports a very very good morning aboard the Viking Stariper. There weren’t too much fluke around but there were loads of porgies and sea bass. Today’s pool winner was 14 year old Ricky D’Elia of Port Jefferson with a 5.5lb fluke. Half Day Fluke PM Captain Stephen Francis reports another great afternoon of bottom fishing today. We had some fluke, some sea bass and porgies. Today’s pool winner was Jim McGuire of Massapequa with a 3lb fluke. Sat Sept 5

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Dave G reports a great afternoon if fishing! We caught lots of sea bass, plenty of porgies and some keeper fluke. It was a great trip. The pool winner was John Obnewski of Bethpage with a 3lb fluke. Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports good porgy fishing today with some nice sea bass, about 1/2 dozen fluke, striped bass and blues despite the rough conditions. Heider Possidonio from Kearny, NJ won both pools with a 31/2 lb porgy and a 6lb fluke. Half Day Fluke AM Captain Dave G reports a slow morning of fishing. The north east winds made for tough fishing conditions. We still managed to put catch together of sea bass and some keeper fluke. The Pool winner was Daniel Gilman from New York, NY with a 2.5lbs. Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day of porgy fishing today aboard the Viking FiveStar. We had mostly porgies today, we did go looking for the sea bass but we were not as successful today with them. We did have very nice quality porgies though. Today’s pool winner was Wallace Melvin of Irvington with a nice 3.5lb porgy. Half Day AM Captain Steven Jr reports a good morning on the Viking Stariper despite the windy conditions. The pool winner was Adam Lind from Brooklyn, NY with a 6lb 5oz Fluke. Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports another excellent night in the Block Island Bass Ground.
