Sun July 4 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Captain Dave reports that in today’s perfect fishing conditions we caught a ton of Porgies! The fish landed were mostly in the medium or large size range with some Jumbos mixed in. We had plenty of action with most anglers catching their limit so Capt Dave headed off to the east to hit some Sea bass rocks and we were rewarded with plenty of keepers with everyone catching their limit. Today’s first place pool winner was Ricardo Capella of Brooklyn NY with a 3lb porgy. Second place was taken by Moustafa Nosaed also of Brooklyn who landed a nice 2.4lb Sea bass. Fri July 2 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We started out anchoring at the lighthouse and landed medium to large Porgies. After that we headed offshore for SeaBass and had very very good fishing with everyone catching their limit. We ended the trip back at the lighthouse where we had great conditions and another nice pick of large and Jumbo Porgies. All in all a good day. The pool winner was Rowland Ramdass from New Hyde Park, NY with a 3.1 lb Porgy.

Captain JR reports a slow afternoon of fishing on the Viking Starship . We had a slow pick on most drifts and Fluke fishing just never turned on and we ended the day with significantly less keepers than we have been seeing. The afternoon pool was won by John Cigliano of Franklin Sq. NY who landed a 2lb Fluke .

Capt Dave reports a tough day of fishing today on the Porgy grounds. The conditions resulted in a slow Porgy pick by the lighthouse so we decided to headed offshore and look for some Jumbo Sea Bass. Sea Bass fishing was very very good and we also had some Porgies mixed in every drift. We did not have a pool onboard today.

Capt Dave reports a slower day on the Viking Starship. We had a windy morning with a quick drift. It was a slow steady pick with more small fish mixed in today. The SeaBass fishing was just fine with limits around the boat with fish up to 3 lbs. There were also some Bluefish around. The pool winner wanted to remain anonymous. He had a 3 lb Porgy.
