Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Wed June 30 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a tough day of fishing today on the Porgy grounds. The conditions resulted in a slow Porgy pick by the lighthouse so we decided to headed offshore and look for some Jumbo Sea Bass. Sea Bass fishing was very very good and we also had some Porgies mixed in every drift. We did not have a pool onboard today.

Capt Dave reports a slower day on the Viking Starship. We had a windy morning with a quick drift. It was a slow steady pick with more small fish mixed in today. The SeaBass fishing was just fine with limits around the boat with fish up to 3 lbs. There were also some Bluefish around. The pool winner wanted to remain anonymous. He had a 3 lb Porgy.

Capt Dave reports that we saw great improvement today over the past few days on the Viking Starship. The trip drifted by the lighthouse where they caught  jumbo Porgies. Deep water went well but mostly smaller Sea Bass with everyone getting their limit. The pool winner was Derek Hughes from Brentwood, NY with a 3 lb Porgy.
