Sat July 3 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We started off where we have been catching and had a slower pick than we have been seeing. It was a mix of medium to large Porgies. So we headed off to the east and anchored on a rock pile. We had good fishing with Porgies and SeaBass on two drops. The day ended at the lighthouse where it started out slow with a fast tide. We anchored and when the tide eased it was a very good mix of large to jumbo Porgies. The last drop made the day. The first place pool winner was Barry Cameron from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Daniel Morrobel from New York, NY with a 3 lb SeaBass.
