Sat Nov 24

Block Island Cod & SeaBass – Limited Passenger Capt Steven Sr reports tough conditions today with the full moon tide. We had lots of bites but we had to work hard though small SeaBass. We did have plenty of Porgies and about 16 Cod Fish up to 17 lbs. The pool winners were Robert Juszcak from Fairlawn, New Jersey with a 16.9 lb Cod and Tony Sa from N. Bellmore NY with a 4.4 lb SeaBass.

Cod/Seabass/Blackfish – Viking Fivestar Capt Steven Jr reports a slow pick for most of the day but we ended up with a good catch of Seabass and some nice Blackfish and some quality cod in the mix. No go tomorrow with the weather but we will be fishing again Monday!

Block Island Cod & Sea Bass – Viking Star Capt Steven Sr reports when the frost is on the rod, it’s time to catch the Cod! The pool winners were Peter Pappas from Syosset, NY with a 26.6 lb Cod, and Metin from Clifton, New Jersey with a 4.8 lb SeaBass. Full report to follow!

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a cold and windy morning on the Viking Starship. The 1st spot we found a lot of SeaBass, we had to pick thru a ton of shorts but we found a lot of nice ones mixed in. Our 2nd spot was great! We had a very good mixed bag bite. Lots of SeaBass, plenty of Porgies and over a dozen of nice Cod all over 10 lbs. The biggest Cod was about 20 lbs! The pool winner was Tony Ho with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy.

Happy Thanksgiving! The office will be closed for the holiday on Thursday and reopen at 4am for ticket sales on Friday morning for our trips departing at 5am. lock Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports the best day of fishing we have seen in a while aboard the Viking Star. We did have to pick through some of the smaller SeaBass, but everyone had their limit of nice size fish! We had a lot more Porgies then we have been seeing, and we had a handful of Cod in the 10 lb – 15 lb range.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a slower day then yesterday on the Viking Starship. The first drop was a tough pick with a lot of small SeaBass and Porgies. We tried one more spot in the deeper water and found a lot more Porgies then we have been seeing. We also found a handful of nice size Cod at 15 lb and everyone had their limit of nice size SeaBass! The pool winner was Donald Moi from NY, NY with a 2 lb Porgy.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a much better day on the Viking Starship than yesterday. We had to pick through some of the smaller ones, but we had a lot of action and everyone ended up with their Sea Bass limit. We didn’t see many Porgies, but we did have a handful of Cod and a couple of Pollock. The pool winner was Miguel Rios from Brooklyn, New York with a 3.5 lb Sea Bass.

Block Island Cod & SeaBass – Viking Star Capt Dave G reports a good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Star. We had much better conditions today compared to yesterday. The sea bass were biting as soon as we started fishing, and fishing was good for the entire trip, with about half the guys catching their limits. We also had some real nice size cod mixed in throughout the day. The pool winners were Paul LaGrandier from Bay Shore NY with a 15.7 lb Cod, and George from Brooklyn NY with a 4.9 lb Sea Bass.

Block Island Cod & SeaBass – Viking Star Capt Dave G reports a good trip today aboard the Viking Star. We started the day in rough windy conditions left over from the nor’easter. The first couple spots we tried were very slow with few bites. We kept moving around and our patience was rewarded! The last two spots we fished were very productive, and we ended the day with a nice catch of sea bass, cod, a few porgies and a couple pollock. The pool winner was Michael Bento from Northport, NY with a 5.3 lb SeaBass. There were also 5 cod more than 10 lbs each that weren’t in the pool!
