Mon Sept 9 – Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports a little more difficult day on the Viking Starship than we have had recently.  The turbulence on the sea floor near the Montauk Lighthouse has yet to settle since Dorian moved by on Friday.   We did go East and tried a good deep zone less affected.  Unfortunately, the Porgy bite seemed off and only a handful of keepers came back to the dock.  It was a banner day for Sea Bass though.  Everyone got their limit of keeper Sea Bass.  The pool winner was Alfred Manning of Brooklyn, N.Y. with a 2.6 pound Scup. Anglers mark your calendars!  We will begin Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass trips daily this Saturday September 14th.  We leave the Viking Fleet dock at 5 A.M. and return at 3 P.M. in the afternoon.  This is a very popular trip with our regular customers, so call our office at (631) 668-5700 or book online soon.
