We had to hide from the weather this morning under southeast light where we had a good bite with mostly medium Porgies and some SeaBass. Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a great day fishing aboard the Viking Fivestar. We had a small crowd today but we caught plenty of nice size Sea Bass and Porgies, we also had a handful of Cod. There was no pool on the boat today.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothhead SeaBass Capt Dave reports great day of fishing aboard the Viking Starship. We caught a bunch of Porgies and a handful of Sea Bass. The Cod are already biting and we have high hopes for this season! The pool winner was George Wilson from Brooklyn NY with a 3 1/4 lb Porgy.

1/2 Day Fishing Trip – AM Capt Jerry reports a great morning of fishing aboard The Viking Star. We caught plenty of Sea Bass. The pool winner was Joann Rose Burkey from Massapequa, NY with a 6.4 lb Sea Bass.

1/2 Day Fishing – PM Capt Jerry reports a good afternoon on the Viking Star. We had a light crowd and decent action with Porgies and SeaBass. There was not a pool.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports an excellent Porgy bite today on the Viking Starship. Everyone had their share of Porgies, but after the blow the SeaBass were a off the bite. Everyone managed a couple and the were quality fish. The first place pool winner was Floyd Smith from Freeport, NY with a 4.1 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Austin Romero from Brooklyn, NY with a 5.9 lb SeaBass.

Commercial Trip Sun Oct 7 – Wed Oct 10 – Viking Fivestar Capt Steven Jr reports a fantastic tuna trip on the Viking Fivestar. They had 1700lbs of various species! A great way to end the Viking Fivestar’s 2018 tuna season, with an awesome commercial trip. Remember, there is one more offshore trip on the Viking Star Oct 22 and there are plenty of fish around so come get your last shot offshore with us!

Wed Oct 10th & Thurs Oct 11th – Porgy & SeaBass Charter – Viking Star Capt Jerry reports that the annual two day charter group from Maryland had two great trips. It was good to see Quentin and crew again and the fishing did not disappoint! The SeaBass and Porgy fishing was phenomenal!!

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports phenomenal SeaBass fishing on the Viking Starship. We had a light crowd and tried out some new spots where we found BIG Seabass and plenty of Porgies to go around. We also had a couple of Cod and Blues. The pool winner was Henry Logan from Brooklyn, NY with a 3 + lb Porgy. We are cancelled for Friday morning, but we will be sailing all weekend.

Thur Oct 11-Schedule Update

Weekend Weather Update! Attention Viking Anglers! We will be cancelling ALL TRIPS tomorrow, Friday Oct, 12th due to weather. The weather for this weekend looks just fine! Hurricane Michael will be long gone by Saturday morning so all trips will be a GO! We will be sailing on the 140ft Viking Starship for Jumbo Block Island Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass. Fishing has been nothing short of SPECTACULAR! Come and fill your cooler! This trip leaves DAILY at 5AM and returns at 3PM. Fare is $110. We will also continue to sail on the 104ft Viking Star Saturdays and Sundays for Half Day Mixed Bag Bottom Fishing. We have 2 trips… 8AM-Noon and 1PM-5PM. Fishing has been very exciting on these trip as well, as we are seeing a mix of Porgies, Sea Bass, Striped Bass, Bluefish, False Albacore, and…

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a slow pick on the Viking Starship. The fish were a bit off the bite today, so we had to try a few spots. We would get a nice shot on each spot, but it would die out after about an hour. We did have mostly large Porgies and fewer than usual SeaBass. Towards the end of the trip we tried a wreck and found quality SeaBass and a few Cod. All in all it was a good trip, we just had to work harder at it today. The first place pool winner was Mark Cho from Manhattan with a 4.2 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Vaughn Cook from North Babylon, NY with a 9.7 lb Cod.
