Mon June 11

Montauk Porgy Fishing Capt Dave reports a very good morning of fishing. Smaller crowd, so no pool today. Mixed bag, lots of keepers, jumbos and small fish. Everyone caught their limit, and there was a good mix of fish.  Nothing exotic, except for one striped bass was caught.

Sun June 10

8am 1/2 Day Fluke Fishing Capt Steven Jr reports a slow but good day of fishing. Mixed bag of fish for this morning. They saw couple of porgys mixed in with the fluke, and a few sea bass which were released unharmed. Today’s pool winner is Ratko Turcinovic from Ronkonkama, NY, with a 4.2 lb fluke.

Sun June 10

Montauk Porgy Fishing Capt Dave reports today’s fishing was very good. There was a fast tide, and slightly windy so they drifted down the beach a bit. Steady pick all day, with a mixed size of fish. Lots of black porgies in the mix today, and a couple of sea bass which were released unharmed. Today’s pool winner in 1st place was Jamar Perry of Bronx, NY with a 3.5lb porgy, and in 2nd place Abel Auila from West Chester, NY with 2.25lb porgy.

Sat June 9

1/2 Day Fluke PM – Viking Stariper Capt Dave reports a slow day on the Viking Stariper. We managed a few keeper Fluke and we had some action with Porgies and throwback Sea Bass. The first place pool winner was Angelo Demetroulakos from Brooklyn, NY with a 4.5 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Henry Nunez from East Islip, NY with a 3.25 lb Fluke.

Sat June 9

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing on the Viking Stariper. It started out slow, but we moved around and found a good pile to work on. We ended up with a good steady pick with mostly big size fish. The first place pool winner was Sung Yang from Oklahoma with a 4 lb Jumbo Porgy. The second place pool winner was Wallace Grenard from Brooklyn, NY with a 3 3/4 lb Porgy.

Fri June 8

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies Capt Dave reports another good day on the Viking Stariper. It was slightly slower today with the slack tide, but we did have big Porgies. We made a move down the beach and had a very good pick of mixed size fish. We threw back a load of SeaBass and we also had a few Bluefish. Scotty P from Patterson, NJ was the pool winner with a monster 4 lb Porgy.

Thurs June 7

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies Capt Dave reports excellent fishing at the Lighthouse today on the Viking Stariper. Conditions were just right for drifting and we had mixed size fish from the biggest Porgies to just keepers. After the tide ran hard we headed down the beach and threw the anchor where we had a steady pick of good sized Porgies. There were also a lot of Sea Bass released unharmed, a few Bluefish and a short Striped Bass. The pool winner was Hung Lee from Brooklyn, NY with a 4 lb Porgy.

Wed June 6

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies – Viking Stariper Capt Carl reports a fine day of Porgy fishing on the Viking Stariper. It started off slow, until we got dialed in on good steady fishing with medium, large and Jumbo Porgies with a couple giant ones over 4 lbs! We also threw back a bunch of big beautiful SeaBass. Almost everyone retained their limit of Porgies. Wilfrado Mercado from Bronx, NY took the pool with a 4.2 lb Jumbo Porgy.

Tue June 5

Montauk Jumbo Porgy Fishing Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing aboard the Viking Star.  The morning started off slow due to the dirty water left over from yesterdays weather.  We made a moved and fishing started to steadily pick up.  Later we made one more move and we had excellent fishing.  We also caught a fair amount of sea bass that were released back into the water unharmed.  Today’s pool winner was Jian Yun Chen of Flushing, NY with a 3.3lb porgy.

Sun June 3

Montauk Jumbo Porgy Fishing Capt Dave reports that todays trip was an excellent day of fishing, and stay consistent for the whole trip! It was a one drop day, with a good mix of fish. A few bluefish were caught but it didn’t mess with the fishing. Everyone caught their limit today. Today’s pool winner was Gicelle Suero with a 3.5 pounder.
