Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Tue June 17 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain Carl reports an OK morning of fishing. The east wind made the bite a little on the slower side, but we still had plenty of action and managed to keep a couple Keeper Flukes, some giant Porgies, and a couple of Bluefish. We also saw some Black Sea Bass, but our season doesn’t open…

Sat June 14 – Sunset Jigging for Striped Bass & Blues

Capt JR reports an excellent evening of jigging! The wind and lumpy seas didn’t keep the 104 ft Viking Star at the dock. Our hearty passengers enjoyed an excellent night of catching with loads of action. We had oversized giant Striped Bass, slot sized keeper Striped Bass, and schoolie Striped Bass bending our rods up…

Sat June 14 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a decent trip on the Viking Starlite. Porgy fishing was pretty good on first tide early. We had Large and Jumbos. Tons of Bluefish moved in that scared the Porgies away, but everyone had fun catching the Blues. The pool winner was Darwin Nunez from East Meadow, NY with a 3.1 lb…

Fri June 13 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt JR reports a delightful afternoon of catching onboard the Viking Star. We found hungry Fluke everywhere we fished keeping anglers busy at the rail. The good action also brought some nice KEEPER sized Fluke to put in the buckets. A fine afternoon! There was no pool.

Fri June 13 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports an okay day on the Viking Starlite. It was a really good start to the trip by the lighthouse first thing with a lot of Porgies and Bluefish. When the flood tide came on it got picky. We also had some throwback Blackfish and Sea Bass. The pool winner was Mr. Lee…

Mon June 9 to Fri June 13 – Captain’s Choice ULTRA ULTRA LTD

Capt Steven Sr. reports a great offshore trip on the Viking Starship. The morning of departure the weather looked un-fishable to our usual eastern grounds. We decided to make a right at the lighthouse to check out the southern canyons that we haven’t visited in a number of years. We were rewarded with very generous…
