Monday July 8 Sunset Stripers Capt. Ant reports a very successful Sunset Striper trip…we saw the sunset, we caught some Stripers!!!!  We hit the lighthouse and only caught a couple of rats on the first 3 drifts but we didn’t quite have the tide so we ventured on to try a spot we haven’t been to in awhile.  Bust…luckily it was only 10 minutes away so we headed back.  Once again fish were everywhere, from top to bottom on the machine and swirling on the surface and once again they were tough to catch.  3 on the first drift, none on the second, 2 on the third…uggh!!!  We had a couple fluke come up including a 6lber which had a 30lb Striper literally hanging on it’s tail.  At one point we had a pod of bass right under the pulpit…

Wednesday July 3

Night Striped Bass Captain Anthony can finally say MOOOOO! We got them big last night, late but big! We caught the last of the flood and the fish were stacked! We were only able to manage 1 keeper and 1 shorty in these drifts. We bailed the scup and fluke on the jigs so at least rods were bending. We sat through 2 full hours of lull, lost a couple of nice bites, but with an hour to go the big boys started biting. We had a total of 4 fish over 30lbs! George “Novelist” Jehn nailed a 38.5lb and a 31.7lb striped bass. Gunther Vanderdoesch took with pool with a 38lb 8 oz striper and Chase Derasmi took second place with his 33lb striper. Justin, Bryan and Jesse did a phenomenal job assisting all of the anglers aboard the…

Night Striped Bass – June 21st

Captain Ant  reports a solid night of bass fishing how ever it took some jigging skill to really have a good night due to there ripping tide tallied 10 bass & Chris and Danny swept 1st & 2nd with a 23.7 lber & 19lber respectively. While jigging was solid with bass, blues, scup & fluke the eel bite was picky. We scratched a drift it seems all night but could not get multi hookups. The pool winners were Chris Luke Southampton, NY with a 23lbs and second place went to Danny Wes Watermill, NY with a 19lbs.
