Sunset Stripers
Capt. Ant reports a very successful Sunset Striper trip…we saw the sunset, we caught some Stripers!!!!  We hit the lighthouse and only caught a couple of rats on the first 3 drifts but we didn’t quite have the tide so we ventured on to try a spot we haven’t been to in awhile.  Bust…luckily it was only 10 minutes away so we headed back.  Once again fish were everywhere, from top to bottom on the machine and swirling on the surface and once again they were tough to catch.  3 on the first drift, none on the second, 2 on the third…uggh!!!  We had a couple fluke come up including a 6lber which had a 30lb Striper literally hanging on it’s tail.  At one point we had a pod of bass right under the pulpit and could not get a hook up.  We drilled out another 10 drifts picking away and put a decent catch together overall with some quality fish in the low 20’s.First place was Sophia Lamonica 13 years old from Yonkers, NY Second place went to Ron Harmer from Farmingdale,NY  Also i would like to mention that Mr  Lou Simpson From  Amagansett, NY caught a  6.9lbs Fluke.

Full Day Montauk Porgies
Captain Dave reports a slow day of porgy fishing today. The porgies we did have were very nice sized, and we also saw a lot of sea bass (all released unharmed). Just a reminder, there are only a couple days before Sea Bass Season begins July 10th! Today’s pool winner was Segundo Guallpa of Rockland County NY with a nice 3.5lb porgy.

Half Day Fluke AM
Captain Joe reports that fishing started out with good action but was mainly shorts. After Moving to a spot we haven’t fished yet this year, we put together a solid amount of keepers. The pool winner was Julie Fitzsimmons from East Meadow, NY with a 4lb 5oz fluke.
