Night Striped Bass Jig & Eel Combo  Capt. Ant reports very solid to excellent Bassing on the two trips last night.  We had quantity and quality and the Behemothland came alive again…add another 40lber to the list!!!!!  6p Local Bass Express – Action was non-stop on every drift once we got tide.  It was steady,1-3 a drift with a decent number of blues in the mix as well.  Although we had a number of first timers, they mastered the process pretty quickly and we were able to maximize the catch.  Check out the video on Facebook….it certainly tells the story.  Rodrigo Silva took the pool with a 36lb Moocow and Brendan Johnson came in second with his own 30lb Moo. Full Day Fluke and Sea Bass Captain Carl reports a decent day on the full day fluke boat. We picked…

Half Day Fluke AM One of Viking Fleet’s favorite regulars Angelo Demetroulakos won the pool yesterday! Block Island Behemoth Capt. Ant reports an excellent Bass trip last night overall.  We started the night out at the local grounds and had a fantastic start.  26 keepers in 6 drifts to 35lbs.  We then moved to the Behemoth grounds and for the first time this year were denied.  Still a bit of a heave on to the east and that might have effected the bite.  They certainly were there, in fact more piles of bass than I’ve seen in a few weeks.  Just no bite.  We’d pass through a school and catch 1 when every rod should have been doubled over.  We picked a few more over the night to round out the catch.  Frank Guinesss Stoutenberg was high hook with 4…

Jig &Eel Combo Capt. Ant reports a fantastic night locally considering the conditions.  We had a stiff northwest wind against a screaming flood tide, add to it the swell of Cristobal and drifting squarely was a challenge to say the least.  Even with that they finally bit after a month hibernation. The sizes were mixed as we had a couple throwbacks up to a 42lb rock slob.  Average was about 20bs.  Bluefish were a bit of a nuisance at the start but once the tide got roaring it was 99% Moo Cow Linesiders and 3-4 a drift up until we left.  John Bye from Wantaugh took the pool with the 42lber and Mike Scarzelli took 2nd with a 36lber. Half Day Fluke AM Captain Ant reports an excellent morning trip with quality fluke and jumbo sea bass and biscuits in…

Friday August 22

Block Island Behemoth Capt Ant reports another very good trip to Behemothland.  We had extremely difficult drifting conditions and while we didn’t catch our first fish until 4 hours into the trip, the bite finally turned on and delivered many moo cows and one Behemoth at 40.9lbs caught by Justin Alicea from Sleepy Hollow.  Christos aka Fester took second with a 39lber and father in law Angelo D added a 31.  The King of the night was Jose Splash Ruiz with 4 keepers to 35lbs.  I guess that makes Paul Ryan the Queen with 3 to 36lbs.  Each retained their limit.  Don Mitchell was able to nail a high 30’s Moo Cow even with a bad wrist.   Looking forward to Midnight Madness as timing should be perfect for the feeding frenzy. Half Day Fluke PM First & Second Place…

Tuesday August 18

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Anthony D reports an excellent afternoon of fishing. We had non stop action all afternoon with stuffed buckets all down the rail. We had nice sized fluke along with some sea bass and scup in the mis. All of our anglers will be eating well tonight! Today’s pool winner was Michael Shaye of Richmond VA with a nice 6.9lb fluke. Montauk Local Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today. It was a bit slower than yesterday, but not too bad but the bite was a little off. We still managed a nice catch of sea bass and porgies, both mixed in sizes. We had some really nice quality big sea bass today. Today’s first place pool winner was Robert Brown with a 2.75lb porgy and in second place was…

Night Striped Bass Capt. Ant reports a slow start to last nights trip but once we got the tide we had a BEHEMOTH BLAST for the last 2 and a half hours.  Overall the trip was fantastic with many of our regular guests catching multiple Moo Cows.  Practice makes perfect and these guys just know the way these big boys bite.  Chad the Shad had  4 to 35lbs,  George “new book our soon” Jehn had 4 to 37lbs and Gary “Big Fish” Young had 4 to 38lbs.  All retained their limit.  Joe Pagillo limited to 30, Dan Bender and Ivan Grvic each had 32lbers.  Scott Goldman had his limit as well but he landed a Behemoth at 40lbs .  Jimmy “Keepon Reeling” Thieling from Deer Park had his largest ever at 41.3lbs and that Behemoth took 2nd Place.   Scott…

Block Island Behemoth Capt. Ant reports our hunt for the Beasts for the East was Bassacret!!!!  Barring the first few drifts we absolutely crushed them with 5-8 Behemoths getting stuck with the gaffs on every drift.  85% of the fish were over 30lbs including a pair from Hanging Chad that weight 30 and 36lbs, No disrespect to Chad, but that was nothing.  We had 5 fish over 40lbs this trip.  Eddie Kartar took the pool with a 43.6 and also had a 33 and 25 (orl).  Guiseppe Lombardi had a 42.1 and a 37, Lawrence Wong had 42.0, Michael Nelson had a 41.8, a 37 and 29lber, and Nancy Belermo had a 40 even.  Flat out sick.  Gary “Bigfish”Young also had 3 to 36lbs as did Dr. Jay Zieglerto 36lbs…..Outstanding work by the best bass crew in the universe…Eric, Justin,…
