Saturday October 4

Evening Live Eel Trip Saturday Nite Eel trip, despite the evil conditions, turned out to be awesome!!   Bass love the suds and boy did we do a number on them. Again blues in the mix but more moo cows than choppers. John Cataldo, a bass assassin regular took the pool with a 30lber. He also had 3 orl. Half Day Bass and Blues AM On Saturday mornings jig trip we got our butts kicked, caught blues again and short bass but eventually had to evacuate. Tom Choi from E moriches took the pool. Friday Oct 3

Behemoth Bass Hunt Friday Behemoth Bass limited load. Well we had an excellent “fishing” trip. Rods were bending all night with big blues dominating the catch. We had wind against tide and never really got up to speed for a solid bass frenzy but we managed to land an okay amount. Anthony DePaolo from Selden took 1st and Eddie Kwok from Baldwin took 2nd place in the Striper pool. Sunrise Live Eel Trip The Sunrise Live Eel trip was on the slower side mostly due to horrendous drifting conditions. We actually hardly used the eels as jigs produced bites which were blues blues blues. Ken Shanahan from Lakeland Fl took the pool. Sunday Sept 21

Half Day PM The pool winner was Jim Kissmer from Ronkonkoma, Ny with a 4lb Porgy Half Day AM The pool winner was Mr Jusuf Cejoveic from New York, NY with a 5lb Sea Bass Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had a mix of porgies and lots of sea bass all really nice sized today. The first place pool winner was Sandy Emanuel of NYC with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Francisco Estupimiam of Hempstead NY with a nice 5lb sea bass.

Friday Sept 19

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a fairly decent day considering the strong winds today. We had lots of decent sized porgies, mostly big porgies. We also had some sea bass and a couple of bluefish. Today’s first place pool winner was Morgan Rando of Montauk with a nice 3.5ln porgy and in second place was Calvin “Fat Man C” of Harlem with a 11lb bluefish.

Wednesday Sept 17

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an excellent day of porgy fishing today! Today was the first day they really showed up good and we had mostly porgies on the boat. They were mixed in size, but everyone had their buckets full. We had some really nice sea bass along with one striped bass and a handful of fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Alfred Booker of Farmville VA with a 3lb porgy and in second place was Norman Turner of Jersey City with a JUMBO 5lb sea bass.

Monday Sept 15

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a decent day of fishing today. We had tons of really nice quality sea bass today with a mix of nice porgies. We had more porgies today than we have been seeing and the porgy fishing just keeps getting better each day. All in all it was an alright day of fishing. Today’s first place pool winner was Robert Batt of Floral Park with a nice 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Ray Negron of Brooklyn with a nice 4.5lb sea bass.

Thursday Sept 11

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today in Block Island. We had lots of nice sea bass today along with a nice mix sized porgies. Porgy fishing today was better than it has been in the last few days. We also had a few keeper fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Carlos Peters of Brooklyn with a nice jumbo 4lb porgy and in second place was Perez Robinson of Brooklyn with a nice big 4.5lb sea bass.

Tuesday Sept 9th

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports  tough day today due to the rough and windy weather. Today was not the greatest conditions to fish in but we still managed an okay catch. We had some porgies with tons of sea bass- most people had their limits on the sea bass- and we also had 2 nice keeper striped bass on the boat. Today’s pool winner was Shirley Dane of Jamaica Queens with a 2.5lb porgy. 3 Day Full Moon Tuna/ Sword Ultra LTD Captain Carl reports YellowfinSANITY on the Viking Star! We arrived on the grounds and started fishing at 10pm. Within minutes we hooked and landed our fist yellowfin. A couple minutes later, another one. Then another and another and it became very steady with all big yellowfin averaging from 50-80lbs. Bait and jogs both…

Happy Labor Day! Mon Sept 1

Montauk Local JUMBO Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports very good porgy fishing close to home today. We had mostly LARGE fish today! Everyone had their limit of sea bass up to 4lbs and tons of nice JUMBO porgies. We also had some blues in the mix. All in all it was a great day of local fishing. Today’s pool winner was Moisos Ramos with a nice JUMBO 3.5lb porgy. PORGY SCHEDULE UPDATE!!! Due to phenomenal LOCAL fishing Captain Dave has postponed going to Block Island for the long trip because there are SO MANY LARGE PORGIES at Montauk Light House. We will begin the extended trips to Block Island Tuesday September 9. For the next week take advantage of the increased bag limit and catch your 45 porgies locally right at the Light House! Saturday Aug 30th

Night Striped Bass Jig & Eel Combo  Capt. Ant reports very solid to excellent Bassing on the two trips last night.  We had quantity and quality and the Behemothland came alive again…add another 40lber to the list!!!!!  6p Local Bass Express – Action was non-stop on every drift once we got tide.  It was steady,1-3 a drift with a decent number of blues in the mix as well.  Although we had a number of first timers, they mastered the process pretty quickly and we were able to maximize the catch.  Check out the video on Facebook….it certainly tells the story.  Rodrigo Silva took the pool with a 36lb Moocow and Brendan Johnson came in second with his own 30lb Moo.
