Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass
Captain Dave reports  tough day today due to the rough and windy weather. Today was not the greatest conditions to fish in but we still managed an okay catch. We had some porgies with tons of sea bass- most people had their limits on the sea bass- and we also had 2 nice keeper striped bass on the boat. Today’s pool winner was Shirley Dane of Jamaica Queens with a 2.5lb porgy.

3 Day Full Moon Tuna/ Sword Ultra LTD
Captain Carl reports YellowfinSANITY on the Viking Star! We arrived on the grounds and started fishing at 10pm. Within minutes we hooked and landed our fist yellowfin. A couple minutes later, another one. Then another and another and it became very steady with all big yellowfin averaging from 50-80lbs. Bait and jogs both caught very well and by the end of the night, our 1 ton fish box was full and we started loading our other one! It was awesome fishing!
We didn’t catch any swordfish, but probably because all the yellowfin were eating the bait before anything else. The bite shut down after sun up and some started pulling the anchor to begin trolling, but unfortunately, our mate Justin hurt his hand and it was bad enough we had to go home early. Justin did a great job, and he didn’t want to go home, but he required medical attention and everyone on board already had a load of big yellowfin so we called it a trip. And a great on at that! John Dempsey took first place with a beautiful “Wanna be Alison” Yellowfin at 92lbs! Joe Turner took second with a beautiful 85lb yellowfin!
