Captain Ant reports an OUTSTANDING night of bassing. We caught consistently the entire night starting with jigging 18-25lb bass in the black fog. It wasn’t a slam but each drift produced 1-3 keepers on the jigs, and these fish were green giving the angers a fight to remember. With the fog at hand it got dark quick so we switched to the eels and picked the rest of the night with decent size fish. We had a few anglers catch their limit and/or catch their first bass ever. James and James (dad and son) whacked the two biggest fish of the night with younger James taking home the pool.
Just a reminder, we head off to Block Island tonight on the overnight Behemoth Hunt and have two trips scheduled for tomorrow night with the Flood Chaser leaving at 4p and traditional at 6p.Night Striped Bass
Half Day Fluke AM
Captain Anthony reports fluking insanity! The action was non stop and keepers were flying over the rail! It was the best day yet by far!! We had 4 fish over 5.5lbs including the pool fish caught by Martin Wellen Dowd at 7.25lbs. The Kilroe Family of 4 tallied a total of 8 fluke up to 5.6lbs. Shawn Farrel lost an 8 pounder but had his limit. And Mary Poppins had 3 beauties up to 4.2lbs!
Full Day Montauk Porgies
Fishing was okay today, a little slower than yesterday but still had good size fish. We had 10 keeper fluke and only 1 striper. Some blues were caught as well. The pool winner was Bill Black from Brentwood with a 3 1/2lb Porgy. The pool winner for the largest edible was Rose Rodregues with a 13lb striper.
Half Day Fluke PMCaptain Anthony reports another great fluke trip! Despite the tough conditions, we continued to mop up the Montauk bottom! The pool winner was Peter Blank of Old Saybrook with a HUGE 9lb 8oz doormat! Pete B’s friend Pete C also had a JUMBO fluke at 9.8lbs.
