Local Cod
Capt Carl reports a tough grind on the cod grounds today. The area we have been doing well in was covered up with gill net gear, so we looked around in different areas. We would have a couple good drifts here and there, and some very slow drifts as well. Every time it looked like we had some fish to work on, it would shut down and we would move on. The last stop of the day saw one pretty good drift with some double headers and nicer size cod, but then two seals came along and scattered the pile. There was a few ling in the mix with the cod today, but all in all it was a tough grind. Jasson Hicks from Huntington, NY took the pool with a 11 pounder, and Nicholas Dorazio from Freehold, NJ took second with. 9 pounder.
