New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Pm Captain
Dave reports a much better afternoon trip with some mixed size fish we had more sea bass. The pool Mr Brian Bagg from Long Island City with a 3lb Edible pool winner was Mr Atkinson from Queens,NY with a 4lb sea bass.
Night Striped Bass
Capt Ant Reports a slow night on the grounds although the bass have showed up. We unfortunately caught the tail end of the tide and had to sit through slack and wind against the ebb for much of the voyage. The pool winner was Mr Gavan Daly Maspeth Queens, NY
Half Day Fluke AM
Capt Carl reports an okay morning of fluke fishing aboard the Viking Star. There was a fast drift, but we managed to get lots of keepers on the boat! We also had 1 bluefish and saw a few nice sea bass, which were all released unharmed. The Vikings own Kevin caught a nice 6lb fluke! Today’s pool winner was Justin Wolfe from NYC with a 4lb fluke, and in second place was Russell Grant of NY with a nice 3lb fluke. We will be sailing again tomorrow aboard the Viking Star for both the morning and afternoon fluke trips! We hope to see you on the boat soon!
New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Am
Capt Dave reports a slow pick today on the porgy grounds in New Bedford. We did manage to get some fish over the rails and we had some very nice sea bass in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Howard McJonaid of Mt. Vernon with a 3lb porgy, and in second place was Leonard Nangle with a nice 4.5lb sea bass.
Half Day Fluke PM
Capt Carl reports a good afternoon with lots of action. We had lots of shorts with some keepers in the mix. Capt Ant had his limit as did Freddy “Motor” Shea! The first place pool winner was Chris Aimetti of Freeport, NY with a 5lb fluke and in second place was Nick Bocchino of Mahopac, NY with a 4.75lb fluke.
