Sunset Striper Slam
Capt. Ant reports another amazing Bass trip on the Starship. This by far has been the greatest week of striper fishing we’ve seen in years. Yes we had our regulars coming multiple trips to enjoy what they know has been a gift, but we had more first timers, young ladies, even small children not only catch their first Striper, but catch their first Trophy Moo Cow Linesider. Check out the pix, they tell the story. George Jehn and Briggs Houston led the way last night nailing 3 fish apiece (only retaining limit), each in the 30-34lb class. Chris Luke had his limit as well. Our next trip will be Thursday 6p-12midnight. Get in on the magic!!!!
Pool Winner was Patrick F Schneider from New Paltz with a 35.5lbs. And a huge congratulations to young Rich Garguillo from Massapequa with a 34lber. Rich was approximately 6 years of age (dad forgot to write it down for us:)) But he not only hooked his own fish, he battled it like a true BassMaster. And that is why we love to take kids fishing!!!
Montauk Porgies
Captain Dave reports another tough day with the strong tide. It was a bit picky with some smaller sized porgies coming up, but we had some really nice sea bass come up , which were all released unharmed. But this was a good sign as sea bass season opens tomorrow Tues July 15th. Todays pool winner was Danny Hall of Brooklyn with a 2.5lb porgy. We will be sailing tomorrow morning, and just a reminder it will be the opening day for sea bass!
