Local Cod
Capt Carl reports absolutely phenomenal cod fishing today on the Viking Star! We had a capacity crowd out to enjoy the nice weather, and from our first drop to our last, we had drop and stick hit the bottom and you gottem cod! Double headers were a normal occurrence of keepers and it was just epic! All market size perfect cod with gaffers all around! We filled every cooler on the boat and some! The crew started cutting fish early, and all the way back to the dock, and then Capt Carl joined in for 2 more hours of filleting. It was just one of those days our anglers will remember forever! Bajram Lleshi from Staten Island, NY found a bigger cod in the mix and won the pool with a 18 pounder… While Joe Volpe of Port Washington, NY took second with a  15 pounder. Unfortunately the next two days look like crap for weather, but we will try for Saturday! Check the photos!
