Back to Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Tues June 21st

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies
Captain Dave reported a tough start to the day of fishing aboard the Viking Star. Fishing was very difficult in the morning with almost no bites during the lightning. The wind also made things very slow, however there was a few big catches. After the storm and wind cleared there was a much better pick of mixed size fish as the smaller fish moved back in, and limits were reached all round. There was lots bluefish and fluke caught as well as some sea-bass which were returned unharmed. Today’s joint first place pool winners were Cheong from New Hyde Park NY and Rob Fishman from Hollywood, California each with 3.5lb Porgies. Cheong also won second pkace with a 5lb fluke.
