Block Island Cod and Sea Bass
Capt Stephen Denaro reports and excellent day of fishing on the Viking Star.  The day started strong with good drifting conditions, catching 5-10 cod per drift.  When that slowed down we went exploring.  We checked a couple spots with each one producing cod and sea bass.  The last spot we went to was lock and load, with our best drift yielding fish up to 18lbs.  Unfortunately, the gentlemen who caught the 18lber was not in the pool.  All and all we had an awesome day of fishing with well over 100 cod on the boat.  Today’s pool winner for cod was Keith Lamastro of Rockville Center, NY with a 15.8lb cod.  The first place sea bass pool winner was Frank Marro of Oakdale with a 4.2lb sea bass.

Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Carl reports a slower day on the Viking Starship. We had an okay pick of codfish in the morning as well as a couple dozen ling and a pollack. From there we went searching for the porgies and sea bass but did not find much… Just 2 porgies and a couple handfuls of sea bass.Today’s pool winner was Ying Chun Zhang of Fresh Meadows, NY with a 13.2lb cod.

We are cancelled for Tuesday due to weather, but look forward to cod fishing the rest of the week!
