Block Island and Outer Banks Cod – Viking Fivestar
Capt Steven Jr reports we didn’t start off the new year will the slammer fishing we had before Christmas, but we still put a good trip together by the end of the day. We had good action early in the morning and after 9 am we only found a few more cod here and there for the rest of the day. Everyone went home with a good pile of fish! The high hook guys had 7-10 fish and everyone else had 3-6 keepers. We’re hoping it was just the easterly wind that made things a little slower but only time will tell. “You got to be there all of the time to catch them some of the time”! And we plan on sailing everyday the weather allows us so we will be adding on a trip where we can. Keep checking the website or give the office a call to get in on a trip!!!

Block Island and Outer Banks Cod – Viking Starship
Capt Carl reports a solid day of cod fishing on the Viking Starship. We had a large crowd onboard and we saw steady fishing all day, with some great drifting conditions. Some drifts were better than others, with slow drifts seeing 6-8 cod per drift, and some drifts seeing 25-30 cod. We stuck with the steady action and ended up with a solid catch onboard. There was a lot of bait in the area so both bait and jigs worked fine. Some folks ended up with 6 or 7 a piece, and some just 2 or 3, but everyone had some cod to take home. We also had a ton of XL size bergalls, some pollack, and a few ling. Medlin Jackson from Brooklyn, NY took the pool with a 14 lb COD.
