George’s Bank Cod/Haddock/Halibut Hunt – 5/22 to 5/24
Capt Steven Sr reports that the trip started out slow, but we worked around the areas and we began to see more and more Haddock. It turned out that the grounds were absolutely paved with small Haddock. It quickly became abundantly clear that there were thousands of small Haddock. We couldn’t get a jig down to get thru them to reach the Cod! We ended up finding keeper Haddock & Cod in the last few hours of day one to put a catch together. Day two started out slow again. We found something to work on and it turned out phenomenal! After 2.5 hours we headed home with full coolers of Cod & Pollock. The 1st Place Cod Pool Winner was Chris Jaronczyk with a 15 pounder. The second place Cod Pool Winner was Aslan Kerisli with a 12 pounder. The Edible Pool Winner was Ed Lessler with a 13 lb Pollock.
