Block Island Jumbo Porgies
Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. The morning started a bit slow, but it picked up as the day went on. We had a handful of nice mixed size porgies and also about 30 keeper codfish. Today’s pool winner was James Hom of Manhattan with a nice 3lb porgy. Please note that tomorrow’s trip will still depart at 5am and return at 3pm, but it will be a Local trip for porgies and sea bass.

***Beginning on Wednesday Oct 4th, we will depart at 6am and return at 3pm and the fare will be $100 for the Full Day Local Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass trip aboard the Viking Starship.

Black sea bass is CLOSED in Federal waters (Block Island waters), but is OPEN in NY State waters. The Viking Starship will be fishing in local (Montauk) waters for Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass from now until Oct 21st. On Oct 22nd, when black sea bass re opens in Federal waters, the Viking Starship will resume our Block Island Jumbo Porgy and Knothead Sea Bass trips.
